Which boxer has taken the biggest beating and still managed to stay on his feet till the final bell. (perhaps this should include people that have been knocked down but gotten back up)

Tex Cobb, against Larry Holmes.

Camacho, against Chavez.

These are two notable choices...also Mel Taylor against Chavez (several cuts in his mouth, multiple facial fractures, multiple contusions, internal bleeding, head trauma...)

Lately...Joppy took a bad beating against Hopkins, Booker just took a pretty nasty beating from Toney as did Jirov.

I read about the Tex Cobb fight apparantly he got an absolute pounding, hasn't he been in some films, fledgling career as a movie star?

I know Camacho got a beating but it wasn't as furousios as some, althought i've never seen it. I'd throw the final fight between Robinson and La Motta, he was getting punished

Marcel cerdan v Tony Zale.
Zale went out in his shield after taking a steady beating the whole fight.

Joe Grim took a ****load of beatings in his time, and those were against some of the truely great fighters of that era. After surviving until the final bell against these guys, he would then proclaim to the onlookers; "I am Joe Grim! Nobody can knock me out!"

Tex Cobb against Earnie Shavers. Tex Cobb seemingly decided, the f**k with it, I'ma take an ass kicking, came back, and knocked Shavers out. It was no Ali-Foreman, more like Klitschko-Brewster.
