i though it was a bad night for british boxing as williams pulled out of the skelton clash ,then maggee loses a controversial match to that vitali dude ,then eastman gets robbed against abraham in germany-(suprise suprise)

the only good thing was seeing khans debut which was an impressive one

It wasnt really a bad night, the fighters were hardly the best we have. Plus they only got beat on the scorecard in Germany, and anyone can get beat on the score cards there.

They do anything to win, look at the Reid vs Ottke fight, Reid was probably going to KO Ottke so the ref just stopped Reid from punching, if they dont want you to win, you have no chance.

lmao that fight was amazing but for the wrong reasons ive never seen such a robbery in all my life when ottke faced reid!

I agree. I was looking forward to watching Khan debute and the other two fights. At least Khan lived up to the hype. Danny Williams is a scrub and I hope he never fights again. Skelton is a scrub as well and has no technique and I doubt that he will ever be world heavyweight champ.

I watched the highlights of the Eastman fight, and to be honest, he got caught far to much, did'nt throw enough punches and deserved to lose. As for Magee, he was in control for most of the fight, and was blatantly robbed by the judges.

I feel sorry for Magee he really tried and won that fact with room to spare. Eastman I knew was going to lose one way or another he well knew waht Germany is like and had the guy wobbled but was Lazy as usual and made Abraham get back into the fight.

He fights at a slow pace and been exposed big time. Hopkins showed the blue print now everybody knows how to beat him

A bit like Junior Witter who lost last week (yeah I know he got the decision but winning like he did he might as well lost as he can kiss goodbye to ever fighting Ricky "the Hitman " Hatton

Danny Williams and David Haye u are a disgrace. Haye is no different to Williams when he knew was going to lose pulls out. Not professional on both fighters, but we should know about Haye from what he did at the commonweatlh games

what a disgarce Amir Khan what can I say excellent

dont agree re Haye, he pulled out in good time and due to a calf strain.

Think you shoudl really look at his careeer so far before slating him, guy has fought arhur williams and carl thomspon inside his first 11 fights, David is genuinely injured.

Willams however bottled it in my opinion. (see thread below)

Anyone who thinks Eastman was robbed needs to get some glasses and anyone who thinks Magee wasnt might as well go to specsavers too. :D

Once more: Abraham beat Eastman and he would've beaten him everywhere around the world that night, even in England. Some people should watch the fight before they start moaning about it. This is ridiculous.

I thought there wasn't much in it so not really a robbery. The judge who scored it 119-110 wants shooting though.

119-110 was far too wide but abraham won the fight by 2 rounds.

eastman did his usual lets go to sleep when he was in total command as bloody usual.

should be called Howard "frustrating" eastman

119-110 was complete bull****, agreed. I had it 116-112 in favour of Abraham and I thought I gave Eastman every round he deserved. I wouldn't argue with anyone having it 115-113, or even 114-114, but to call this a robbery is just plain idiocy.

Good time u say that Haye pulled, u must have selective memory do u remember the Commonwealth Games, where he pulled out without even telling the england coach (went back to london rather than face the cuban)

Haye know he would lose to Hobson, who is very underated, Haye if he was so good why does he not take his time and learn the game not everything is about power, he has yet to go eight rounds

Magee looked better than Eastman as he was not expected to put a a decent fight

At least we agree on one think DANNY WILLIAMS BOTTLED IT

ok I will take yr word on David Haye, hope u don't think I don't rate I do but think he needs to take his time get a lots of rounds under his belt before making an assault on a European Title which they were talking about after his last fight.

The chin of Haye is a worry Jim Twite (i hope I spelt it correclty)

J !
07-19-2005, 12:55 PM
yeah totaly agree why he hasnt gone in with iron chinned but limited Paiul Bonson is beyond me, he needs rounds.

Im not sure it hayes's chin thats the problem but as you referred to earlier his poncey training techiniques.

He just doesnt seem to have the stamina mate. And thats the trainer and his fault for not being in good enough cardio vascular shape.

He took a lot of mombs off Carl whom is a huge puncher and didnt get ko'd, so just my take i reckon his chin will be ok, bit vulnerable like Benn could be, but its his desire and training that worries me.

He is frustrating isnt he, looks the biznezz when he is on form but could end up another Errol Christie. ;)

Fair point. I mean, he said he pulled his hamstring when he was starting his sprint training. Starting sprint training just over a week before his fight? Unless he meant starting it that day. Against Thompson he just blew himself out. Very hot in the arena and every punch he threw had KO written on it. If he'd been calmer and worked the openings better he could have won that fight.

I think Adam Booth needs to step down as manager and Trainer as he is new to Professional Boxing and I am really surprised a lot of people are working with him when I know was a good amateur trainer but this is professional fighting Business and experience counts ie mean need some old heads to show your how other fighters and trainers have failed before,

J !

agree dirt sugar, i was at that fight at wembley arena, haye blewup after just tweo rounds hough which is worrying.

the tactics were non evident as in i don think there were any other than blast him out.

Adam booth is a funny one, i was deserpately triyng to interview David for the BBN inthe run up to the fight, but Booth woulnt let me, then when he lost sure enough, yah ou canhave an interview.

i of course told him to poke it. not in those words but.....lets just say i didnt try too hard to get in touch again.

pisspoor PR that is. Shame cos i like David met him at equinox nightclub on a boxing card there he was in Anthony small's corner and cam accross as a chilled laid back pleasant guy.

But im sorry i was not willing to suddenly dish out exposure cos he lost after being messed about for 4 weeks.
