People, People, People. Did anyone else see the eastman fight. This was supposed to be a walk in the park for hopkins. Look what happened. Yes, he did win, but for the first time in history bernard started to actually look his age. Rather then assert himself early, he had to wait for eastman to finally start to fight into his style. He couldnt force him like he normally would. Eastman wasnt getting beat up until the fifth round. And it wasnt because hopkins was doing the damn thing, it was because eastman wasnt doing a damn thing. If Taylor attacks the body of hopkins vicously until the ninth round, then focuses on his head he should be able to win. The only way for that to happen is if Taylor makes hopkins go towar with him.
Its kinda like the movie scarface
Hopkins and tony come from the prisons. They started out as jack **** and had to deal with ****ed up deals, ****ed up bosses, and ****ed up money. They both slowly start to work there way to the top. Each day becoming more trecherous then the last, yet much more rewarding then the last. One day someone tries to take down their names (Frank, Tito). They have a clash, and in the end they are left standing. Now that they have it all to themselves they start to get greedy. More money, more fame, more power. After a while they start to lose that hunger, that zest for what got them there. They both start to get sloppy, careless, and OLDER. They have this feeling of invincibilty, like no one can take them down. So instead of working hard they start to ride on just there name. That feeling of invinsibilty starts to make it were they dont show respect where respect should be shown. In the end they cross the wrong person. and yes just like in the movie they will both go down in a blaze of glory.
"You ****in' wit me, you ****in' wit tha best"
Taylor is younger, stronger, faster, hungrier, and better then most give him credit for.
Taylor is Tony and Hopkins is Frank.
"Mano, shoot that piece of chit"
Taylor will Take hopkins into the 10th round and floor him twice, the second of which sends hopkins to the canvas hard. 1............2...........3...........4............ 5.....hopkins reaches for the rope while trying to get his mouth piece.......6........7........looking dazed he tries to stand up right.............8........9....still on one knee, hopkins looks at taylor, and for that split second everyone realizes that hopkins is acknowleding that he is a beaten man............10....It's over... taylor being the man that he is, walks up to hopkins and and places his hands on his gloves and thanks him for being a great champion and for giving him the opportunity to fight for the title. He then extends an offer for a rematch to which hopkins naturally agrees to.
Two months later hopkins decides to announce his retirment. Slowly he fades out of the lime light. Then two years later Bernard Hopkins joins the crew of HBO boxing. With his ability to verbally exchange with other men he will make for a great announcer. Hell maybe he will work with roy jones.
