Does anyone know how much 1 mile of running on the beach really is? All the resistance of the sand must obviously make it a ton harder to run. When I was upstate in school I ran 5 miles daily. At home, I run at the beach and I only get in about 2 miles. I was wondering what those 2 miles would be with all that extra resistance. It is also much hotter because it is the summer now.

not sure, but its better than roadruns. Some of the best fighters in my country religiously run on the beach, they swear they wouldnt be where they are without it, so keep running! :)

All proven in Rocky III
Running in the sand is awesome and so is uphill or up the stairs and down. Builds power in the legs and explosiveness.

enadeus, my brother is in the u.s. army, he says theyve got a formula for the equivalency of sand vs. road running. he cant remember what it is but if you know another army guy you might ask them. although he could be full of crap, he doesnt do a lot of running himself
