Do you all realize if they both win their next fight (both fight in August), then they are in line to face each other next? That could be ugly for Vargas. I think Mayorga will pummel him!

DiegoFuego 07-12-2005, 11:25 PM Are you new to boxing or Mexican? RwK 07-12-2005, 11:26 PM Are you new to boxing or Mexican? Are you retarded or just annoying? DiegoFuego 07-12-2005, 11:28 PM Did you not see Vargas in his last fight? :D DiegoFuego 07-12-2005, 11:29 PM by the way, thanks for pickin up my boy Cisco Garcia. he will impress the hell out of you guys. Round 1 07-12-2005, 11:30 PM WBC President Jose Sulaiman has announced that the winner of the Fernando Vargas-Javier Castillejo clash on August 20 in Chicago will be the mandatory WBC 154lb challenger. The week before, Ricardo Mayorga and Michele Piccirillo meet for the vacant title, which Castillejo was recently stripped of for opting to fight Vargas instead of Mayorga. So Castillejo, who has currently been dropped completely from the lastest WBC rankings, could end up facing Mayorga anyway www.*********.com Parodius 07-12-2005, 11:30 PM Mayorga will knock out Vargas. Vargas is way overrated. The only was Vargas beat Mayorga is that he lets Vargas lands free shots like he did with Tito. I think Mayorga should stop this or else he will get beat again. DiegoFuego 07-12-2005, 11:31 PM Larry Merchant said punches don't hurt if you see them coming. I say Larry lost ALL credibility with that one. oldgringo 07-12-2005, 11:32 PM There was a time where Vargas would have made Mayorga look bad and would have beaten him convincingly, but I think Mayorga would **** Vargas up at this stage in their careers. Vargas just looks too robotic and uncomfortable in the ring, and showed no signs of being back in that Joval fight. At least we got to see signs of the old Quartey in the middle rounds of his comeback, but Vargas looked pretty bad. RwK 07-12-2005, 11:32 PM Vargas is way overrated. Wins over: Wright Marquez Rivera Quartey Campas 25-2 with 22 K.O.'s and Mayorga would be number ****ing 23. Pac Man Fan 83 07-12-2005, 11:33 PM I would love to see that fight. I think Mayorga would win it by late round TKO, but it would be a war from the opening bell. The fight I really want to see at 154 is Mayorga - Ouma. However if Vargas could beat Mayorga, a Vargas - Ouma matchup would be very good too. DiegoFuego 07-12-2005, 11:34 PM There was a time where Vargas would have made Mayorga look bad and would have beaten him convincingly, but I think Mayorga would **** Vargas up at this stage in their careers. Vargas just looks too robotic and uncomfortable in the ring, and showed no signs of being back in that Joval fight. At least we got to see signs of the old Quartey in the middle rounds of his comeback, but Vargas looked pretty bad. No joke. I wanna see a Phillips-Quartey rematch cuz that was fun += El Jefe=+ 07-12-2005, 11:36 PM this would be an exiting fight, their styles are gonna make a great fight. i pick Mayorga mic573 07-12-2005, 11:41 PM Vargas hasn't looked all that great but I think you all are going to be very surprised when he beats Mayorga. He was way too defensive in his last fight but still won pretty easy. Vargas will open up on Mayorga more and bust him up to decision win. His skills far exceed Mayorga's. riz 07-12-2005, 11:41 PM I think Vargas would humiliate, then knock Mayorga out. hold up... vargas hasn't fought a decent fight in a LONG TIME. and also the only guy to ever KO mayorga, was trinidad. and thts after he landed TONS OF PUNCHES. also a weight where mayorga was clearly not comfortable, hoenstly 160 way to big for him. vargas defeniitly has the experience at super welter ill give him that, n i am a vargas fan, not as much as b4, but still a fan. but frankly, mayorga is a bigger puncher that DLH and tito in my mind. and vargas is **** against hooks. Mayo KO LATE RwK 07-12-2005, 11:44 PM Mayo KO LATE Vargas TKO 10. Parodius 07-12-2005, 11:50 PM Wins over: Wright Marquez Rivera Quartey Campas 25-2 with 22 K.O.'s and Mayorga would be number ****ing 23.He got a gift win against Winky. The Quartey fight was extermely close. He got knocked out by Tito & Oscar. oldgringo 07-12-2005, 11:50 PM hold up... vargas hasn't fought a decent fight in a LONG TIME. and also the only guy to ever KO mayorga, was trinidad. and thts after he landed TONS OF PUNCHES. also a weight where mayorga was clearly not comfortable, hoenstly 160 way to big for him. vargas defeniitly has the experience at super welter ill give him that, n i am a vargas fan, not as much as b4, but still a fan. but frankly, mayorga is a bigger puncher that DLH and tito in my mind. and vargas is **** against hooks. Mayo KO LATE No way in hell is he a better OR bigger puncher than either De La Hoya or ESPECIALLY Trinidad. Felix is one of the greatest p4p punchers EVER. RwK 07-12-2005, 11:54 PM He got a gift win against Winky. The Quartey fight was extermely close. He got knocked out by Tito & Oscar. Winky fight was the closest. Its simple. I think Winky did win the fight on my cards.....but that really doesnt matter. He cruised the last rounds and Vargas was the agressor. Not very impressive for a challenger to act like the champ. Quartey was made to look foolish IMO. He might have broken Vargas' nose....but not his will. His superior boxing skills were evident and he won the fight decisively. He was ahead on the scorecards at the time DLH stopped him, he put up a great fight against arguably one of the hardest punchers of all time in Felix Trinidad. DiegoFuego 07-12-2005, 11:56 PM Vargas was ahead on WHOSE scorecard against De La Hoya? He was down by 2-3 points on your average scorecard!! RwK 07-13-2005, 12:02 AM Vargas was ahead on WHOSE scorecard against De La Hoya? He was down by 2-3 points on your average scorecard!! Vargas----DLH Time: 1:48 | Referee: Joe Cortez | Judge: Paul Smith 94-96 | Judge: Doug Tucker 94-96 | Judge: Patricia Jarman 97-94 ~ Official scores....and I think I might have had it 98-93 at the time of the stoppage in favor of Vargas. he was the effective agressor. mic573 07-13-2005, 12:06 AM Patricia Jarman's scorecards are always way off. He got knocked out buy the ***** boy Oscar. RwK 07-13-2005, 12:11 AM Who really cares about the official scores. He got knocked out buy the ***** boy Oscar. Mayorga is impressive. He did afterall......lose his professional debut. That joke should have 6 losses on his record......because he robbed Forrest in the second fight. dropping your hands and patting your chin doesnt make you cool. riz 07-13-2005, 12:14 AM No way in hell is he a better OR bigger puncher than either De La Hoya or ESPECIALLY Trinidad. Felix is one of the greatest p4p punchers EVER. ye my bad thts kidna taken out of context. i mean like he has those hooks that can jus errupt from anywhere. he doesn't jab or anything so every punch he throws he might KO the guy. tito and DLH have a jab and gameplan and ****. mayo is - **** the guy up Parodius 07-13-2005, 12:15 AM dropping your hands and patting your chin doesnt make you cool.[/QUOTE ]He but that is funny. You have to understand the guy can take a great punch & he his wild. He can be dangerous for anyone, if he gets lucky. I do agree he is not a great boxer, but I will pay to see Mayorga any day, this guys is fun to watch. riz 07-13-2005, 12:17 AM Mayorga is impressive. He did afterall......lose his professional debut. I do agree he is not a great boxer, but I will pay to see Mayorga any day, this guys is fun to watch. I only say these things....because I realize you have great respect for Mayorga. Despite his loss by knockout as a pro debut to a complete nobody. and FYI: Oscar knocked out: Julio Cesar Chavez Oba Carr Jesse James Leija Yori Boy Arturo Gatti not exactly the easiest group to knock out. RwK 07-13-2005, 12:20 AM hopkins lost his first pro fight as well. Comparing Mayorga to Hopkins is like comparing Ali to Berbick. Doesnt work. BLKPANTHER 07-13-2005, 12:21 AM I Saw Fernando's Last Fight And He Is Not Back 100% But On The Other Hand Mayorga Seems To Slipping As Well. So It Should Be An Interesting Fight! Both Men Trying To Get Back On Top. DiegoFuego 07-13-2005, 01:05 AM But when it boils down to it, Vargas got knocked out by De La Hoya, and that's unacceptable. I mean, every real star that De La Hoya fought arguably beat him outside of Vargas. De La Hoya never won a meaningful fight convincingly except when he beat Vargas, and that, sir, is an embarrassment to Vargas. RwK 07-13-2005, 01:26 AM But when it boils down to it, Vargas got knocked out by De La Hoya, and that's unacceptable. I mean, every real star that De La Hoya fought arguably beat him outside of Vargas. De La Hoya never won a meaningful fight convincingly except when he beat Vargas, and that, sir, is an embarrassment to Vargas. So. I suppose now you are going to tell me Mayorga has beat the better level of opposition in comparison to Vargas? DiegoFuego 07-13-2005, 01:28 AM I'm not saying that, but I am saying that Mayorga will thrash Vargas if Vargas can even get past Castillejo next month DiegoFuego 07-13-2005, 01:54 AM Comparing Mayorga to Hopkins is like comparing Ali to Berbick. Doesnt work. you think Mayorga is better than Hopkins?!?!??!!?!? slavik18 07-13-2005, 02:11 AM First of all, Vargas will not get past Castillejo. If he does, you guys will watch a man reborn in Mayorga on August 13th. (Least thats what is being written) Mayorga has new trainer, he's apparently a workout machine right now. He's training really seriously, says he stopped smoking becuase it was causing him to get tired easily. (Duh) You are about to see a wild man thats been sort of disciplined. He still has the awsome chin, the power, the heart, but now he has better defense and better overall skills. Now think of this, without his skills he was still champ, beating forrest twice, and KTFO lewis. Now imagine him with better defense, better movement, better accuracy. Watch Mayorga destroy Michelle, and if Vargas gets by Castillejo, he will be murdered. This is of course, what his trainers and him are saying. I kind of doubt that he made these changes, but we will see. Zab Super Judah 07-13-2005, 02:27 AM Do you all realize if they both win their next fight (both fight in August), then they are in line to face each other next? That could be ugly for Vargas. I think Mayorga will pummel him! I dont think vargas can handle mayorga's pressure at this point in his career..well what makes it interesting is ..I want to see how mayorgas chin is now after that beating.. RwK 07-13-2005, 03:20 AM you think Mayorga is better than Hopkins?!?!??!!?!? Read in context of what I am saying prior to that statement genious. BBFM 07-13-2005, 03:34 AM He got a gift win against Winky. The Quartey fight was extermely close. He got knocked out by Tito & Oscar. hahaha, funny. RwK 08-17-2005, 12:32 AM Vargas definitely won't be able to KO Mayorga, but he might be able to outpoint him...let's wait for Saturday what happened to Mayorga "pummelling" him? MlLkMan 08-17-2005, 12:34 AM I think Vargas would humiliate, then knock Mayorga out. LOL, no way, other way around. ANYTHING tino 08-17-2005, 07:04 AM mayorga is shot too and out of his best weight class . vargas is shot but at his natural weight and still has more skills than mayo . vargas by UD , IF he gets past castillejo , which i doubt . |
