Sugar Ray Leonard is a Welterweight king. He does everything that Oscar does but better. SRL beats up on Oscar at any weight...especially 147.

Right. De La Hoya would have a statistical insignificant chance to win. Leonard was a great fighter promoted as a great fighter. De La Hoya is a good fighter promoted to be a great fighter. Therein lies the difference.

Plus, just for the record, I FIRMLY believe that De La Hoya took himself out of that Hopkins fight. And I'm no DLH hater. I think I am being objective in that. Leonard, say what you will, never quit and never would have. Therein also lies a difference.

You got a big point there. Also, I believe Sugar Ray Leonard is insulted by just being compared to DLH. DLH would have stayed home if he got the eye problem of SRL.

well if they were to fight 1/26/05 then DLH, no questions asked, but had they both met at their prime,it would be a different story. We will never know who would win, SRL has a few losses under his belt and so does DLH, but DLH resume has better fighter on it

Dominated Sweet Pea?..........He didn't even land except on the gloves.

I think SRL hit harder and was much quicker then DLH, I would take SRL 9 out of 10 times to win.

DeLaHoya goes down on another questionable body shot.

DLH is a much stiffer fighter than SRL was, DLH has fast hands, but he doesn't put combinations together with different punches from different angles nearly as well as SRL. SRL didn't just have fast hands and feet, he had a fast mind as well as quick reflexes. DLH would have trouble landing on SRL, and IMO, it would be kind of like Mayweather vs. Corrales, except that they would both be more or less the same size.

Wow you guys really like DLH. The only top oponent he ever dominated was Vargas. Sugar Ray has a much greater legacy.

SRL easy, possibly stopping De La Hoya. Picture De La Hoya vs. a bigger,stronger, smarter, & possibly faster Shane Mosley. He had trouble with Shane, against fighter like SRL, he get domintated.
