View Full Version : Is IBF Protecting Byrd From Klitschko?
Nautilus 07-09-2005, 10:26 PM Is IBF Protecting Byrd From Klitschko?
By Scoop Malinowski
The IBF is in a court battle with former WBO Heavyweight champ Wladimir Klitschko who feels he was unjustly cheated out of a title shot when the New Jersey based sanctioning body inexplicably vaulted DaVarryl Williamson over Klitschko into the next highest available contender position in the May 2005 ratings for a title shot with Chris Byrd.
Just last October Klitschko defeated Williamson by technical decision when an accidental head butt from Williamson caused the fight to be stopped. All three scorecards had Klitschko the clearcut winner despite a flash knockdown from a Williamson right hand early in the bout.
Since that fight Klitschko destroyed previously unbeaten Eliecer Castillo and Williamson got up off the floor to stop a totally shot Derrick Jefferson.
Highly curious reasoning for the IBF to raise Williamson over Klitschko. Highly suspicious indeed.
You have to wonder if some force manipulated or finagled the IBF to protect Byrd from having to fight Klitschko. Could it have been Byrd himself or someone representing his intentions? Could it have been his promoter? Who done it?
Because there is just no way in the world Williamson should have risen above Klitschko in the rankings. Everyone in boxing knows the dirty secret that Wladimir Klitschko will take the IBF crown from Byrd, most aware of all of this truth is Don King who does not want to lose grasp of the belt he paid Lennox Lewis the sum of $1,000,000 and a Range Rover to vacate.
Adding to the intrigue for this reporter is how - just a year ago - the IBF seemingly protected Byrd and shafted Andrew Golota in their mysterious rankings. Byrd defended his title against Golota last April by a highly controversial draw - despite most experts such as Mike Tyson, Shannon Briggs, Tito Trinidad, Lennox Lewis, Evander Holyfield, Angelo Dundee, Kassim Ouma, Tim Witherspoon, and even Chris Byrd's wife herself thought Golota won the fight (Mrs. Byrd was caught on the TV camera saying to her husband, I don't think you got it.)
After Golota performed so well against Byrd, what did the IBF do? They dropped Golota from their top 15 ranked heavyweights! Now, again, why on earth would the IBF do that? Drop completely out of the rankings the man who just, in most people's eyes' won or at worst drew with their champion? Was it to protect Byrd from doing a rematch with Golota? Because consequently, Byrd refused all offers to grant Golota the rematch and ended up facing Jameel McCline. There is no other feasible explanation to ponder. I cannot think of any. And if it's true, and some force persuaded the IBF to drop Golota, WHO did the dirty work? How did they do the dirty work?
It's been said that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. One single entity can not and should not be in control of the richest, most prestigious prize in sport. Surely the justice system of America will see this case for what it is and overturn the IBF's unjust ranking maneuverings which appear to be blatantly corrupted.
It seems inevitable that Chris Byrd, the so-called heavyweight champion, or as some would say, the counterfeit champion, will eventually have to face Klitschko.
Byrd, Don King and everyone else just might as well accept it and deal with it and stop with the shenanigans. The longer they try to avoid the truth, the more damaging it is to their own credibility and that of the sport. Doesn't anyone care anymore?
Boxing has to be an open competition, where the best, most qualified fighters in the world compete for the championship titles. This is the only way boxing can thrive and prosper at its optimum best. We, the people who love the sport - the fans, the media and others - can never allow it to become a closed competition like the heavyweight division appears in many ways right now.
Bozo_no no 07-09-2005, 10:27 PM I've said this before, and I'll say it again.
There is no way Wlad Klitschko should be the mandatory for ANY major title.
He's been brutally stopped twice in his last 6 fights and hasn't beat a meaningful fighter inbetween or since.
AintGottaClue 07-09-2005, 10:56 PM but bozo u dont make the ratings, whoever the ibf has at number 1 gets a shot weather anyone likes it or not

And right now they are considering having Wlad and Williamson face off in a rematch.
I'll remind you and the other fanatics of your "like it or not" point when they make that announcment.

...Anyone else get the impression that if you don't hate the Klits your a fanatic? But if your a Ukaranian Sausage stalker does that make you a fan or an enemy?? Deep down I think it makes you a fan. What happened to Wlad in the Brewster fight was not a brutal stoppage. No matter how many times you say it people still know that Wlad shot his wad and had nothing left. Brewster didn't do **** in that fight. He was the right guy at the right time and just happened to be standing near Wlad when he collapsed. I still can't believe he got up when Wlad was kicking his ass around the ring.

This coming from one of the most spiteful of the deluded fanatics.
Wlad shot his wad did he?
It had nothing to do with the monster left hooks Brewster landed in the 5th, and how he punched him all around the ring like a rag doll?
I still remember you saying "I have no delusions about the Klitschkos" followed by "Wlad only lost the Brewster because he was tired."
You're in la la land.
Brewster punched WLad all around the ring in the fifth round,
<img src=http://www.boxingscene.com/media/data/513/138brewster_nails_wlad.jpg>
yet according to you and you and some of the fanatics, it was anything from Vasiline on his legs to ****ed water to just being tired.
If you don't think that 5th round was brutal, I suggest you watch it again without your Klitschko glasses on.

....I don't buy the vaseline thing at all and I now think that Wlad was poorly trained and simply ran out of gas. Do you think he got hit by a punch that changed the momentum?? **** no he didn't. By the time Brewster landed anything Wlad was already done. He never landed a big shot that changed things the whole frickin fight. Dude was out of gas in the 2nd round for no apparent reason except over anxiousness I guess. Manny had him sparring n four round streatches for some ungodly reason. Be realistic and tell me if you thought Wlad looked better in the Castillo fight. I thought his balance was better, he had trained for 12 so he looked fresher at the end, and he looked much more determined. I don't wanna hear you bull**** rhetoric but instead want to hear an evaluation of Wlad in the ring and not about his opponent(which is debateable).

You've got to admit, by Bozo moving further away from actual facts and more towards fiction, he's doing a nice job of perfecting his *******-ism.
He's already lost all credibility and at this rate, it wont be long before he's a complete idiot.

....yeah, the two brutal KO's **** is total bull**** and he knows it. I think he just likes the word brutal. Last night I brutaly beat my dick!!! Thats in his diary. This hot spell in Canada is brutal(not compared to summer heat in the states)so another stretch. If I ever got a girl she would be brutal(this ones for real brutal).
Bozo_no no 07-10-2005, 12:51 AM You two act like the fact you are in agreement with each other carries some kind of credibility.
Meanwhile, you're like two little girls at a Backstreet Boys fan club meeting.
I realize that it hurts your feelings to admit that Wlad has been brutally stopped twice, but learn to deal with it and move on.
PBDS, all I can say is that you need to try and watch that 5th round again without the Klitchko glasses on.
Brewster landed two left hooks that were the begining of the end.
Wlad was punched all around that ring in the 5th round, and was stopped. Period.
You nut huggers are only making excuses just like you do for Vitali in his losses.
It's always an "injury" "lucky cut" or "exhaustion".
It's always something.
Bottom line: Wlad Klitschko has been stopped twice in his last 6 fights, and hasn't beaten a top credible heavyweight in between or since.
You little girls only continue to prove how difficult it is for you to come to terms with Klitschko losses.
Couldn't be anymore pathetic if you tried.
DiegoFuego 07-10-2005, 03:46 AM I think we can all agree on the fact that Wlad Klitschko absolutely sucks and should not be in anyone's top 10, now or ever
S0UTHPAW 07-10-2005, 05:17 AM Wlad deserves Byrd as much as Rahman deserves Vitali, Toney Deserved Ruiz, and a hell of alot more than Meehan, Golata, or Williams deserved a shot. When the opponent does not run from Wlad, at the very least the match is entertaining, and we all know the heavyweights could use some excitement :D
Bozo_no no 07-10-2005, 05:27 AM Brewster is the only fighter Wlad should be crying up a storm to get a rematch with.
Notice how he wants no part of a puncher that embarassed him, but is jumping at the chance to rematch a feather fisted guy he's already beat?
He'd probably rather have Vitali fight Brewster for him. Why not get big bro to try and go 3 for 3 in avenging his embarassing losses?
S0UTHPAW 07-10-2005, 05:32 AM I would like to see Brewster-Wlad II. The first one was......interesting :boxing:
TheEvilSaint 07-10-2005, 10:27 AM byrd is protecting HIMSELF. he wouldnt go overseas to fight wlad, and when wlad offered to fight in america, byrd wanted more money than wlad was offering. in truth, byrds just being an arrogant, selfish, money-grubbing prick. hes the greatest fighter in NOBODIES mind except his. byrd is protecting himself.
those of u who are suggesting who he should fight next: shut up. did danny williams really deserve a shot against vitali? did golota really deserve a shot against brewster? did mccline really deserve a shot against byrd? does mcbride deserve a title shot for what he did against tyson? undeserving fighters always get title shots. so what makes u think byrd wont give an undeserving fighter and undeserved shot?

.....Yeah yeah yeah I heard it all before. Anyway, send me the damn fight like I asked you to and will watch it without my Klit glasses and give you my honest opinion. I know you got that fight. Like I told you in the PM I sent, I couldn't bare to watch it again right after it happened. I did see the replays the night of the fight and still don't think Brewster did a whole lot.
masterdirector 07-10-2005, 12:04 PM Klitschko wasn't unfairly cheated out of anything. He never was ranked #1 anyhow. He was unjustly ranked #3, the #1 & #2 were unrated, so Klitschko sued for a title shot. IBF said okay ***, we'll just switch you and the #4 guy. That just happened to be, for some stupid reason, Williamson. Wladimir is clearly undeserving of a title shot, although I wish Byrd would fight and embarrass him. I don't think Byrd is scared, its more just King and his hatred for the Klitschkos. He doesn't even want to sign them.
Klitschko should just fight Williamson again, as was suggested in court.

I haven't taken the time to read the entire thread, becuase I already understand Torino's agenda, but Wlad didn't get ko'd twice? It was fatigue both times? just curious :D

...Oh hell no. Sanders knocked the snot out of him. I was refering to Brewster.

RIGHT ON! When's Wladimir gonna stop fighting in court and start fighting in the ring? Big *****

WOW.
I didn't realize you sent me ANOTHER private message.
I couldn't watch the fight a second time because I was so pissed, but I clearly saw the replays and I still don't think Brewster did **** to turn that tide and it was a total Wlad collapse. If you have the fight and wanna send it to me then go ahead. I swear that if I see something that changes my mind I will admit that you were right and Brewster actually did something offensively.
Translation: You were so upset and emotionally crushed that couldn't bring yourself to watch the fight a 2nd time.
And you're trying to TELL ME what happened in the fight?
Pull your wounded little head out of your ass.
I don't have that fight on PC, and even if I did, I wouldn't go out of my way to send it to some MORON who wouldn't be able to watch it objectivly anyway.
And LOL at you trying to BRIBE me with changing my color meter. Do you think you're some kind of Thug?
Do you and your "Alliance" run the "Karma racket" around here?
I could care less if you and your friends send me bad K for the rest of eternity. All it means is that some MORON is so upset (similar to the way he felt when Wlad got Brutally stopped by Brewster) that he's going to go out of his way to waste his own time while thinking about me.
You're 41 PDBS. Grow up.
Learn to watch fights without your heart on your sleeve, and stop sending me private messages you FLAKE.
