View Full Version : Brock vs. Klitchko
MrUnstoppable 07-08-2005, 08:11 PM It looks like the fight between Calvin Brock and Vitali Klitchko is all but signed. What is you prediction for the fight? I'm going to go out on a limb and say that while I respect Vitali, I think he is vulnerable to be beaten. Calvin Brock by decision.
....I can't see any reason at all that would make you think that. I see Brock as an easy victim for Vitali and I see him getting brutally raped inside of 7 rounds.
...On a side note, don't you live in the general area that the hurricane is headed in. Gonna miss us in the Tampa/Bradenton area thank ****in christ.

I think it is going to hit in between us. Maybe around P'cola. If I'm not on here in two days, you'll know. Be safe nonetheless, homie. You never know for sure which way these things will go.
MrUnstoppable 07-08-2005, 08:28 PM As far as why I think Brock can win...why not? Vitali has about 5 good rounds in him in a fight. Calvin has shown he can hold his own with the larger heavyweights. I believe Brock has untapped potential we haven't seen. If Calvin makes it past round five, in my mind the odds dramatically change in his favor. Klitchko is no joke and I'm not betting on it by any means. This is Brock's chance to show if he's for real.

Vitali has too many advantages over Brock: strength/power, height, reach, experience, etc. Klitschko has NEVER been behind on the scorecards and there is NO WAY the unproven Brock will outbox Vitali.
If Vitali is to loose the fight, he can only loose by a TKO.

He could definitley win I agree...I think VK is overated. His best win was a loss.

...Yeah, same to you man. Get your ars ready for this one.
dansweeney 07-08-2005, 08:43 PM Don't underestimate Brock people, he is very fundamentally sound, and we have already seen him show championship heart in getting off the canvas and coming right at mccline and winning the fight. that was no flash kd either he was hurt badly, what does he do? he gets up and comes at Mccline with everything he had. Brock by sd or possible late round stoppage
TheEvilSaint 07-08-2005, 08:44 PM brock is alright but he does NOT have the goods to take out the best HW in the division today. he should take john the bum ruiz (everybody should take john the bum ruiz).

Best in the division ha? bull****, let him PROVE that fact! Vitali is highly overrated

alright, name somebody whos better than VK.
then explain how vitali has the ring magazine's HW title and nobody else does.

Peter,Rahman,Brewster, mesi if he gets cleared, brock will beat him, The Ring GAVE him the title, he didn't take it from the champ, it was given to him. he' gonna get ****ed up in his next fight you watch

....Absolute horse****!!! Not a heavy out there who would be favored in a fight with him and it would probably be 2-1 at the worst. Dude has never been dropped, and none of those chumps you mentioned will do it either.

If he fights Sam Peter he will join his brother in getting devastatingly knocked out, he's finished.

peter: unproven, how the hell do u know how good he is?
brock: same thing as peter.
rahman: what makes him so good? he lost to tua, ruiz, maskaev, lewis, and holyfield. hes a disgrace.
mesi: he robbed barrett, and could hardly squeez by with a decision against jirov (who lost to michael moorer, for ****'s sake).
brewster: his claim to fame is he KOd WK (who beat him from pillar to post during the fight) and his 1st round TKO of regular punching bag andrew golota... give me a ****ing break... brewster?!
get ur head out of ur ass long enough to really look at the HW division.

...Peter is so ****in sloppy he would get brain damage if he fought Vitali. He looks too stupid to know when he's hurt too. Vit would probably bludgeon him to death for like 8 or 9 rounds until he couldn't stand anymore. Dude would never recover from that.

Get off his dick dude, Vitali doesn't have half the power peter does as far as one punch is concerned, what is Vitali all of a sudden Larry ****in Holmes? what is he gonna make 25 title defenses and run roughshot over the division for the next 10 years? you are kidding yourself! he isn't **** compared to the heavyweight champs of old and he ain't **** now!

HWs of old: of course not.
HWs of now: of course he is.
his height, reach, jab, and power is enough to beat anybody in the divison. how the hell can u swarm a guy whos jab is like a jackhammer in ur face. there is no HW in the division whos chin is THAT strong and carries enough power to beat VK.

...He's better than anybody out there RIGHT NOW and he wears out guys like Peter by pounding them until they collapse. See Sanders and Williams for reference points. Peter doesn't have nearly the skill of either one of them. Even if Peter lands one of those sloppy assed swing and duck jobs, what the hell makes you think Vitali couldn't take it? So far he has taken huge shots from big punchers and has never ever been dropped. Now all of a sudden he gets KO'd in his next fight? Shut the **** up with your nonsense logic. Have you been drinking tonight Dan? Your usually more logical than this. Is your kid brother posting in your name when you leave the room??

Jack hammer jab? hahahahah, so now he is Larry holmes, wonderful just great. he did that to Danny Williams dude. enough power to beat vk? guess you never heard of a guy who is 24-0 with 21ko's and can punch like a ****ing mule can kick, tht would be the future champ Sam Peter.

..Sam Peter hasn't even proved he can beat a top ten heavy much less "THE MAN" in the division. When Peter steps up IMO he will be exposed. They are milking this guy against weak comp and doing a great PR job on him and the next thing you know he is gonna get a shot he doesn't deserve and get his ass kicked.

stop riding peters dick and come back to reality. peter doesnt train for **** and if he cant (and wont) get past somebody with a jab, he'll get hammered into the ground. peter's green and green doesnt beat a KO artist like VK.
but i dont udnerstand how u can take brock by UD. i mean hes gona have to reach quite a distance up to land a punch. in addition, VK never been on the canvas, and like 80% of his KO's r within 3 rounds.
the only way VItali IMO will ever lose is by TKO, n even that i highly doubt it.
VK TKO 4

Doesn't train? he was down to 243 and was pretty cut the other night, but im sure you probably haven't even seen him fight have you? Vitali throws his jab from his hip, which means his jaw is wide open, if he did that against peter that's all she wrote

yeah, he jabs from the hip... and lands on ur jaw like a piston whenever ur close enough. peter doesnt have anything aside from power. he even said it himself he hardly trains. guys like that cant beat vitali klitschko.

Obviously we disagree, that's cool. in your opinion who out there has the best shot at taking Vitali? you gotta see somebody who could give him trouble

toney could beat vitali (not easily though). peter could hurt vitali, but the odds of him landing flush on vitali is very slim. vitali's got good upper body movement and he can take a punch.
im not sensing any more hostility from u. can we keep this a civilized and cool-headed conversation?
MrUnstoppable 07-08-2005, 09:47 PM Guess you'll just have to find out on Sept 24th. Last time I checked, Brock hasn't been knocked out either. Or course he hasn't quit on his stool either. Nor has he had a fight stopped because his face was a bloody mess. Nor does he have one or two losses on his record. I have mad respect for Vitali and I'm actually a fan of his. You can't compare what has happened in that past to what will happen then. Vitali has been on the shelf for a year. Calvin is young and hungry and has been underestimated his whole career. Right now, Vitali is the biggest test in the heavyweight division. Only one way to find out if Calvin can pass the test.

Sure. im surprised you said Toney, I definitly think he has the skills, but im not sure he could overcome that huge size difference, just seeing them in the ring together would be a crazy site. speaking of Toney, I thought he had the inside track on fighting vitali next? what the hell happened to that?

brock needs one more good fight to really prove he has what it takes to be the champ. its one thing to be good against good competition its another thing to be good against terrible competition.

You could say the same thing about Vitali.
TheEvilSaint 07-08-2005, 09:52 PM You could say the same thing about Vitali.
well, vitali was winning on the scorecards against byrd and lewis. and he was beating them both around the ring. vitali has looked good in losing efforts against top 10 HWs. brock has looked good in winning efforts against mediocre HWs. u decide whos the better fighter.

You can't count your best losses as wins. This is Calvin's chance to prove himself. If he fails, he was supposed to. He's still got enough in him to comeback. If he wins, he's a champ in some form or fashion.

wins or losses, vitali isnt easy to beat. IMO brock doesnt have enough to beat VK.

hopefully we don't have to decide, and they actually fight. he was beating byrd's ass, but Lewis and him were going back and forth, I wish Vitali never got cut cause I dont think anybody can say for sure what the outcome would have been!
Tha Greatest 07-08-2005, 10:05 PM Vitali by KO 8
Vitalis greatest weapon is his size/power/reach etc.
Brocks best weapon is punches in bunches..
Not enough to beat the champ...
!! Mr. Soprano 07-08-2005, 10:08 PM McCline Dropped Brock..
Vitali is head and shoulders above McCline, you don't think he'll finish the job?
McCline was dropped by Klitschko Jr.
Tha Greatest 07-08-2005, 10:10 PM Also remember I am one of the biggest Klitschko haters here...
but this is obviously a mismatch and Vitali would win easily..

that doesn't mean anything, what did Brock do after the knockdown? he almost stopped Mccline and made a 10-8 round into a 10-9 round, he has skills and alot of heart, he does have a shot
