Opinions on the Jeff Lacy vs Omar Sheika fight.
Omar was giving Lacy much more than he could handle in the first half of the fight. Some of the punches that Omar landed looked to confuse Lacy some IMO. My question is how would Lacy be if he faced Taylor or Hopkins,Trinidad and De la hoya if they move up? Omar in times looked like a younger DLH in my eyes

I have to honest I was a bit disapointed with Lacy, I actually thougt that Omar was going to win it after the first few rounds - he definately had him troubled.

As for going against the cream of the weight range - not on that performance I think he'd loose to Hopkins, Trinidad, DLH - not sure about Taylor yet. That said I know he can perform better.

Hopkins.....I'd favor him over Lacy.

I'd favor Lacy over Tito, & especially over Oscar....who looks mediocre at 160.

One could argue that if any of the middleweights moved up, Lacy would be the bigger fighter and the harder puncher.

However, I think that Oscar would be too fat at 168 to outbox Lacy.

Lacy would definately be in the fight with all of them, but he is too raw.

Lacy would just be too strong for Oscar in my opinion even if he doesn't have the experience. If Tito doesn't get caught with something big he can not only test Lacy's chin but beat him. Hopkins just has too many things he can do in the ring. Bernard beats him quite easily. Taylor and Lacy will be a good fight at 168 down the road.

You'd take Lacy over Tito, that suprises me, I just don't see it. I'd give him more of a shot against nard because he getting old and slowing down.

Sheika almost dropped lacy in I think the 2nd or 3rd round. I guess it is true what they say about being too buff in boxing. Lacy is good, but he has alright defence but he is hittable and easily frustrated. I think he gets ko'ed by Hopkins, Taylor and Trinidad.....Oscar better stay at the lower weights, because I think lacy would be the first to knock oscar out. I know that hopkins stopped De la Hoya but I thinnk lacy would put him to sleep...

Omar has been KO'd before tko on cuts and ko once or twice, why was lacy not able to ko or tko him?

Trinidad hits hard but if Lacy wasnt able to tko a guy who has been tko/ko about 3 times, what does that tell us about his power?

Trinidad no question,he hits just as hard as a mule kicks

B-Hop has too much ring smart for Lacy right now

DLH has speed advantage (by a long shot) over lacy and he can take punches on the chin, the B-hop body shot must have hurt him pretty bad IMO

I agree with you till you said Lacy would put DLH to sleep,
just one question, "Do you think Lacy hits harder than Trinidad"?

just one question, "Do you think Lacy hits harder than Trinidad"?I think Lacy has very good power and I think he hits harder than trinidad. He isn't as accurate as trinidad but he hits harder, and DLH is a different fighter than he was back then. I think he could put a hurtin on DLH...
Did you see the Lacy vs Wiggins fight? Lacy knocked wiggins out by punching him in the middle of his face...

Lacy beats Taylor, Joppy and Oscar. He would probably beat Tito as we all know Tito is one dimensional, take away Tito`s power, and he isn`t really any good!

Well.....there have been bigger punchers than Trinidad, who weren't nearly as successful. So, there must be something else there.
Don't you think ?

I know this is an unfair comparison, but Lacy is kind of like Pazienza, He doesn't hit as hard as you would think he could. Maybe it's because his arms are stiffer than they need to be in order to have the quick, fluid movement they need. Lacy did hit Omar with some good shots, but he couldn't even drop him once, I thought Lacy was a hype already, but that surprised the **** out of me, maybe it's more of a testament to Omar's chin than to Lacy's lack of power, but I know if he doesn't tighten his defense up, he won't keep that belt long.

LMAO I liked the way Winky was yelling at him from 2 or 3 rows back, one guy sitting behind Winky had grap him by the back of his shirt to tell him to sit down and winky slapped his hand away, LMAO

I can see Lacy being in trouble in the near future vs better fighters than a #13 Rank world class fighter (Omar).

168 is not far from 160, he can have great fighters facing him real soon, needs to work on the defense, Jab, speed and target practice

he'll be set

I think the only guy there that could beat Lacy is Hopkins, just based on the fact that he could move up to 168 with little problem, and he's far too technically sound for Lacy. Lacy beats the rest of the bunch. He'd slaughter DLH.
