Dan... 06-30-2010, 02:24 AM Mundine for mine. Not only did he beat him but he has the better wins on his resume IMO. Echols and Green are better than any of the guys Green beat when you take into consideration the times at which he beat them. Jones was shot to **** when Green fought him and Lucas was also way past his best.

I must agree. Danny Green's most notable wins were over Roy Jones Jr and Stipe Drews. Roy Jones had been Knocked Out by Glen Johnson and Tarver. Not to mention he got slapped around by Calzaghe. He was absolutely shot to **** when Danny Green beat him.
Also, If you have seen the Stipe Drews fight you would know that Drews was obviously payed to throw the fight. That was a mockery of a World Title fight. Drews didn't even want to engage and it was boring as ****.
We have to also consider Mundine's loss to Sven Ottke was when he only had 10 pro fights and was boxing for only 1 year. Mundine should never have taken that fight soo early in his career. Futhermore, Mundine lost to an undefeated prime Mikkel Kessler and imo put in a tremendous performance.

Obviously Jones was very shot when Green beat him. Nobody with a clue denies that.
I don't think Drews was paid to throw it, he is just that ****.
Well Mundine's LOSS to Ottke isn't a bad thing in terms of how it places him relative to Green. Ottke obviously retired undefeated with wins over some very good fighters (regardless of whether or not they were legit). Sven KO'ing Mundine is funny though, given I'm not sure he could hurt my mother.
I wouldn't call Mundine's performance against Kessler "tremendous". He didn't disgrace himself but I felt that he defined himself as a B-class fighter in that fight. Instead of putting everything out there like he needed to do to win he retreated into his shell and was prepared to box his way to a wide decision loss.

I don't rank Ottke very highly. The Refs in Germany can go to ****ing hell. But relative to Green's opponents, that loss doesn't really hurt Mundine's ranking imo. Mundine put in a good performance vs Kessler and proved he could hang on a world level. Green is yet to pull off something like that. I guess a fight with Briggs will tell us what he really is made of, even though Briggs is coming off a long lay-off and is the smaller man.
Green blew that first fight with Beyer and he was totally outclassed by Mundine. I reckon that fight was Mundine's best performance to date.
Also, I love how 3 unknown posters have already 1 starred my thread. LMAO. No doubt it was the zionists on these boards. They just can't seem to get off my nuts.

How is a fight with Paul at this stage going to tell us that? Briggs is coming off a massive lay off and looked horrible last time out.
Green beating Briggs will tell us absolutely nothing.

Yeah mate if you read the entire sentence I mentioned that also. But Green's level of comp has been C level his entire career that this version of Briggs is still better than 95% of Greens opposition to date.
Fighting Marine 06-30-2010, 03:34 AM Also, what are your thoughts on Mundine's plans to fight at JMW??? I am of the opinion that Mundine was never really a true SMW, but a Middleweight. The lowest Mundine has ever been was 159 pounds and that was in his last fight vs Medley.
Do you believe Mundine can even make the 154 limit??? His next fight will be at that weight and it will be very interesting to see if he can make the weight. I find it surprising that he is also ranked #3 by the WBA at 154. LMAO

I think mundine is really trying to find ways to get the public interested in his fights.
He didn't try to get a big name at middle weight.
I think Mundine is running out of ways to market himself in a way. Mundine is passed it, no chance of a legacy worth talking about long after he gives the game away.
Fighting Marine 06-30-2010, 03:40 AM Scratch that. Mundine is ranked #2 behind Antonio Margarito. He hasn't even had a fight at that weight. How does that work?

Good observation. Mundine really needs to step up. I find it hard to believe Mundine once fought fighters like Ottke and Kessler.
I think he still has to fight Garth Wood later this year aswell. Damn.
Dan... 06-30-2010, 03:55 AM Well, I'm pretty sure Mundine can make 154 given that I assume he made it yesterday.
Mundine's career is effectively over. He will keep dragging names like Cotto and Mayweather out periodically to keep people interested and squeeze some more out of the D-level competition he is starting to struggle with. He knows he is just about done, he is just trying to cash in as much as possible right now before hanging them up. We will never see him face even a B-level guy again.
ColWallace 06-30-2010, 08:05 AM I'm pretty sure Mundine mentions Mayweather so when Floyd fans google Floyd, "Anthony Mundine" appears in the search results.
ColWallace 06-30-2010, 09:16 AM Danny Green wouldn't be taken the distance by the 88th ranked welterweight. That much I'm sure.

Not unless that welterweight is a washed up, shot fighter or coming out of retirement.
Dan... 06-30-2010, 06:21 PM Danny Green wouldn't be taken the distance by the 88th ranked welterweight. That much I'm sure.
Haha, yeah Mundine is completely done now. Only a matter of time before one of these no-names actually beats him.

Yeah, LOL. True.
I caught the highlights on SKY news this morning. ****in' hopeless mundine is.

World wide Anthony Mundine seems to get a little bit of credit, however here in Australia i think he is highly under-rated.
People simply dont like him and its a shame.

Underrated in Australia? You have got to be ****ing kidding me. Where do they find you imbeciles?

I take it you have very limited knowledge of the fight game, as does most Mundine supporters.

Pathetic.
I'll be back 07-03-2010, 05:54 PM The Green v Briggs fight in a few weeks time will be very interesting
On paper it looks like a great fight but with Briggs out for so long it puts the fight back in Greens court IMO.
I gave Mundine credit for the Kessler fight because Kessler was smashing everybody back then including Sacia and Beyer.
Mundine did well to go 12 rounds and compete.
On the WBA rating Mundine high at LMW you will find with any high ranked fighter if they move a division they get a similar rank.

Im just trying to say he has alot of haters in Australia and they look past what he has acheived, is that so difficult for you to comprehend?

sorry we cant all have 5000+ posts and 12 000 000+ e-points

Mundine is considered a joke on the international stage. That is what was so ridiculous about your comment. While he has a lot of haters in Australia he gets 1000 times the credit here than he does overseas.
You present a pretty good example. You seem to think he is bordering on something close to world class for some reason, and there are plenty of people like you out there in the Australian public. Overseas he is considered to be a joke - that guy who won't fight anyone with a pulse that got KO'd by Ottke.
With every post you make you seem to demonstrate that you have no idea about anything to do with this sport. I wish you would **** off and stop posting here.

We've all got to start somewhere, Dan. A person's awakening often occurs when they've been ripped off, cheated and lied to, be it in sport, music, politics or whatever. There must be hundreds of thousands of people who've learned a lot about boxing by Mundine's poor example. It might just be Jaskiee is still buying the hype; still reading Danny Weidler's weekly column; still buying the crappy PPVs.
Well there's a sucker born every minute, and Jaskieee just happened to be coming along at the right time. We can still be nice to each other.

My knowledge of the fight game isn't a result of how many post I have on here, so think of something else.
It is a result of time spent in the Gym as a kid, being sent to train with an old family friend, watching fighters fight and train, sparring rounds and rounds, going to fight cards as a young teenager out the back of no where and watching countless fights.
So shut the **** up.

I would love to hear Larry Merchant or Max kellerman interview Mundine.

I don't like being patronised and having my ability to comprehend questioned by individuals who clearly have their head shoved up their arse when it comes to the topic being discussed.

I never said that your knowledge of the fight game did come from that, i was just appologising since i cant compete. Jeez guilty conscience hahaha its alright buh thanks for the insight but =]
Im guessing your not going to tell me since you love me so much, but what gym did you used to train at just out of curiosity, anyone I would know of there?

The thing is Mundine gets far more press than any other boxer (aside from Green) in Australia. Some people are going to think that's due to him being the best. That's highly debatable at best. Plainly wrong at worst. Whatever talents he has, he's a joke. I know he's a joke. You know he's a joke. Brently knows he's a joke. The bloke down the pub knows he's a joke.
I wish Australia was like America where their best fighter, Mayweather, is also the biggest star. I've written to several newspaper editors pointing out Mundine's titles are bogus, second-tier titles and it's only boxing's broken system that allows him to claim world champion status. I've pointed it all out on boxrec. Emailed the links. Has it made a difference? Not one damn bit.
So when someone comes along who thinks Mundine's the ****, chances are they've been reading the crap written about him in the papers. There's lots of it, and by comparison, very little about other Australian fighters, Green aside. I don't think Inside Sport have ever done a profile on Katsidis, even though he fights in front of bigger crowds and bigger TV audiences than any other fighter in Australia right now.
So I can't hold it against people who come on here thinking Choc's the best in Australia. If you're a newbie to the sport in this country, why wouldn't you think that? He's all you ever hear about.
jaskieee 07-07-2010, 05:56 AM This wasnt about Anthony Mundine being the best in Australia anyway, its about who is better out of Mundine and Green, I think Mundine is the better boxer and he has already beaten him once although it was probably not at a comfortable weight for Green. Now Green is at Cruiser and Mundine at jr middle seems like theres little chance they will fight again to prove who really is the best, so i through mundine out there.

It's as done to death here as Pacquiao-Mayweather is on the other forum. If Choc fought someone decent for once I'd be interested, but since he won't I'm not. Last I'm ever writing about the bastard right here now.
Done.

It isn't his obvious lack of knowledge that has annoyed me, its the stupidity he has demonstrated in not to being able to realise that he is incorrect.
When I come across someone in life that clearly knows a great deal more than I do on a topic and they correct me on it, I don't respond with smart arse comments and question their comprehension abilities.
