Hear, hear. Olympic silver medal as a middleweight, Golden Gloves champion as a heavyweight with some pro experience as well. Also with that insane grip he had in his hands he could've had some nasty submissions. With the right training he could've been a 3-weight champion in MMA IMO.

I just found it. its cuz on sherdog they have his name as "Aleksandr" instead of "Alexsander", thats why I couldn't find it originally.

Couture, Fyodor, Noguiera, Arona etc all fought in RINGS. It was like a feeder org for PRIDE. It's MMA except no punching to the head on the groud i believe, no elbows, and i think no knees to head either.

The Maeda vs Karelin fight was actually Maeda's swansong from pro-wrestling. It wasn't an actual fight. After Maeda retired the org switched from worked MMA fights to actual fights. The "fight" itself was made to look the way it was simply because knowone in their right mind would ever think that in an actual MMA match Maeda would be able to handle Karelin.
