View Full Version : Anthony Mundine: Gloves off special
jaskieee 06-24-2010, 09:56 AM Did anyone catch this on Fox Sports?
It reminded me that Anthony Mundine has had a pretty good career and has shared the ring with some of the best at Super-Middle.
If he can make Junior Middle like he says he can, i think he could hold his own with the best there, any thoughts?
Fighting Marine 06-24-2010, 10:51 AM Yeah I watched it on Fox Sports a few days ago. It was a pretty good documentary on his career with commentary from almost everyone he's met lol. From Rugby to Boxing etc.
People seem to forget what a ****ing superb athlete Mundine is/was. The ending was funny though. Mundine warning the JMW division to look out. Mundine is going to kill himself to make 154.
phook 06-25-2010, 11:33 PM mundine is a suprberb athete let alone but he couldve done more to for his creer i think it is a waste tbh
RAV3N 06-26-2010, 04:31 AM Mundine was a great athlete in rugby league and even had some talent in boxing.
When he found difficult opponents in boxing he decided not to better himself but to start fighting bums and this is a sign of a bad boxer, he calls himself the man and I find that very ironic.
He has no chance in the junior middle weight division against the best boxers there, he may find a bum with some title and beat him then claim he is great, lol.
None of the good boxers in junior middle weight is going to fight mundine any way, there is no money in it.
I have no idea why you still hold hope for mundine, he is just a never been in boxing. He will only be known for beating aussie boxers who werent that good any way.
Please give up on him, he is a no hoper.

Thats a little harsh dont you think?
I agree he probably has little chance in luring a big name @ 154 such as Cotto, Martinez, Williams etc.
However if one of the middle-range fighters wouldnt mind a vacation to Australia there is a decent payday and a good challenge here in the form of Anthony Mundine.

Judging by the kind of competition he has been fighting for the past 4 years.. theres plenty of reason to give up hope.. if you haven't already..
teofilo 07-01-2010, 06:30 PM We have always known he is a fraud and now we have proof,Australian Boxing is becoming like World Championship Wrestling.!!!

RAV3N 07-01-2010, 07:01 PM Didnt you watch his last fight? He couldnt put away a ww in the jmw division and the bloke is a full time plumber.
One more round 07-01-2010, 07:21 PM I thought the documentary was packed full of blatant lies and inaccuracies. It made out that his fight with Kessler was a war, where Mundine actually dogged the fight and did nothing all night. It made him out to be an A-class fighter, and he simply isn't.
All the people talking on the documentary (like the people who they interview to give their two cents on whatever it is) were lying and talking ****. Really it was a disgrace of a documentary.
Also, I love how they all gloss over the fact that all Mundine has fought since Kessler are ****ing Argentinians. They must have a special battery farm of these guys in Argentina who are brought over one by one to fight and get beaten by Mundine.
And Ryan Waters calling Mundine out with the scripted ring entry and the fake shove, give me a break. They will fight soon probably, Waters will be happy to get the payday of his life and will run away the whole night, and Mundine will take a Unanimous decision.

Not only does he have little chance of landing a fight with those guys, he wouldn't legitimately try to, because if he was unlucky enough to get the fight, he would be knocked out. Guaranteed.
The guy ducked that Golovkin kid for ****s sake. What makes you think (apart from your obvious idiocy) that he would even entertain the idea of serious negotiating with a real A-class fighter like Cotto or Margarito or Martinez.
I have come to the conclusion that anyone who still thinks Mundine is a great fighter going to do big things is not a very intelligent person. And it isn't even about not knowing boxing, he is all over the mainstream news when he fights, and anyone can tell the guys he fights are ****house, and after each one he spouts the same ****. Honestly, you would have to be a dull person to still have any sort of faith in him.

Buddy i think you just need a happy meal.
Lets just hope they arent giving out Anthony Mundine toys this week otherwise you will probably cry and/or come back and post some more hate of the Mundine variety. I dont want that on my conscience.
