View Full Version : Most Horrible Display of Sportsmanship
snoopy360 07-02-2005, 10:19 PM What fighter do you think has displayed the most horrible display of sportsmanship.
I don't know how many of you guys follow womans boxing but I saw a fight some time back where this Ann Wolfe KO'd her opponent and was actually dancing over her victims body (Vonda Ward). I thought her actions were totally tastless and her ignorance was clearly displayed for all to see. Although I believe she would give Ali some serious trouble I have no desire to see this dumb broad ever again.

MetalVomit 07-02-2005, 11:03 PM Gotta be Tyson biting Evander's ear off.
Tony Blitz 07-02-2005, 11:22 PM Forgot who this was, but he walked up to his opponent after he lost and KO'd him and then later went on to kill the commentator's brother who was a sports writer or something like that, anyone remember who this was?
Brz_Pugilist 07-02-2005, 11:27 PM U talking about Max Kellerman's brother Sam Kellerman?
NiGe2011 07-02-2005, 11:31 PM Forgot who this was, but he walked up to his opponent after he lost and KO'd him and then later went on to kill the commentator's brother who was a sports writer or something like that, anyone remember who this was?
You are talking about James Butler who killed Sam Kellerman. The "Harlem Hammer" actually served time for that little stunt he pulled on FNF's and the Kellermans were helping him get back on his feet after he got out of the pen.
Tony Blitz 07-02-2005, 11:33 PM here we go:
The vast majority of boxing fans identified the Kellerman name with ESPN’s fast-talking Friday night fights analyst Max Kellerman. However, the name will now forever inspire remembrance of a darker nature due to the brutal murder of Max’s older brother, Sam Kellerman. It is alleged that light heavyweight boxer, James Butler is responsible for Kellerman’s senseless slaying earlier this month. Butler horrified boxing fans worldwide in 2001 when he clearly lost a fight to Richard ‘the alien’ Grant and proceeded to club Grant with his ungloved fist after the decision had been read. It is now thought that another violent attack from Butler has resulted in Sam Kellerman’s death. The details of the crime scene indicate that Kellerman died from an unfathomably savage attack, being struck in the head with a hammer several times before the perpetrator set fire to his apartment in an attempt to cover the crime.
Butler, who once unsuccessfully contested the IBF super middleweight championship of the world against then champion Sven Ottke, is being held by Los Angeles police pending a pre-trial hearing for Kellerman’s murder. Sam Kellerman was an author and a freelance sports writer who will be mourned by the Kellerman family and all who knew him. Prayers and condolences go out to all of those he has left behind from all of the team here at ***********.com
Tarver is my dad 07-03-2005, 12:16 AM I'm not sure who the fighters were, but like in the early 1980's, one of the fighters cheated the fight by taking some of the paddings off his gloves before the fight. His opponent was badly hurt and had some permanent damage in his brain, and later he committed suicide because of it. The trainer of the badly damaged fighter found out that the opponent's gloves were "customized" when he went to congradulate him after the fight, and when he touched his gloves, he realized that he could feel the fighter's knuckles. The fighter and his trainer who took the paddings off was banned from boxing for life.
Super_Lightweight 07-03-2005, 12:21 AM Wow I can't beleive Butler was allowed to box even after he murdered someone, or did this just happen recently? Even more astounding the Kellerman's helped Butler on his feet if so. Damn.
Tony Blitz 07-03-2005, 12:24 AM this was from 2001 so the article says

SilentButViolent 07-03-2005, 12:46 AM damn ive never heard about that murder
josenoway 07-03-2005, 12:48 AM yeah it happened a while back, i was shocked when i read it, only knew about it cuz it happened where i lived, Los angeles, and was in the sports page of the LA Times and Daily News.
That guy should fry.

Butler has not been allowed to fight since-- this incident took place before the thing with Sam Kellerman.
Believe it or not........I thought Glen Johnson's display right after he knocked Jones out was thoroughly disgusting. While Roy was on the canvas for like three ****ing minutes.....he was celebrating.
At least Mike Tyson always went to his opponent and consoled them after he brutalized them.
I lost all respect for the Journeybum thereon. I was hoping Tarver would decapitate that *****.....unfortunately, it did not happen.
Ironically, people consider him "A Gentleman" LMFAO. what a joke.
Mayorga calling Forrest a Pendejo after he knocked him out was really bad though.

that's just ****ing horrible, picture the punishment you'd take bareknuckle boxing for half an hour against someone highly skilled to throw a punch, ****in pathetic he should've gotten prison time for that.
Slipx 07-03-2005, 01:28 AM im gonna go with james butler brutally sucker punching and knocking out grant barefisted when grant went to hug him

for those who haven't seen it
DiegoFuego 07-03-2005, 01:48 AM Butler hit the guy in the face in 2001. He killed Sam Kellerman in 2004.
GROCERYGETTERS 07-03-2005, 01:59 AM James Butler...
Famoso Matador 07-03-2005, 02:13 AM I remember when Butler fought Sheika, before the fight they showed a clip of what Butler did to Grant, it was brutal. And when he fought Sheika he didnt even make weight. And at one point when they got in a clinch he started rubbing Sheikas head kinda like you would when you are hugging a female. Needless to say Butler lost the fight.
Also once i saw a clip of a boxing match about to start, one boxer extended his hand to tough globes and the other guy knocked him the **** out.

thanks for that link, I was looking for it.
Atwa_66 07-03-2005, 02:37 AM WOW! That was cheap as hell, apparently Butler couldn't handle doing that in the fight when Grant was paying attention, thats cheap ****.
gnostic19 07-03-2005, 04:56 AM max Kellerman was alway a Butler apologist, too, because he was a new york fighter. Max gets on his knees for NY figheters
gnostic19 07-03-2005, 05:01 AM I lost all respect for ESPN when they put Butler back on tehir channel against Sheika after that sucker punch.
The Devil 07-03-2005, 05:01 AM No doubt about it............Evander Holyfield.
The guy has been using his head as a battering ram since his cruiser days and the **** he pulled in the secong Tyson fight should have gotten him banned from the sport. Tyson should have bit his whole head off. Not to mention what he did to Rahman. I have a video clip of Evander doing a running headbutt into Dwight Qawi's face.
**** You, Evander.

The fighter is Luis Resto and the trainer was Panama Lewis. Billy Collins Jr. was the figher who took the punches. I clearly remember seeing his face after that fight in some boxing magazine and his eyes were totally swollen shut.
!! Anorak 07-03-2005, 05:45 AM Also once i saw a clip of a boxing match about to start, one boxer extended his hand to tough globes and the other guy knocked him the **** out.Off the top of my head, I'd go with that, too.
PapiShasho 07-03-2005, 08:20 AM Also once i saw a clip of a boxing match about to start, one boxer extended his hand to tough globes and the other guy knocked him the **** out.
im sure the guy learned his lesson...if youre gonna touch gloves at the start of the fight, start of a round, whatever...you touch with ONE glove, and defend with the other...
this guy just went straight to the middle of the ring with both arms completely stretched out in front of him...
oh, and butler should die. seriously. death sentence. execute him.
moochi 07-03-2005, 08:23 AM tyson's ear biting fetishes would have to be one of them.......
angel torres' one second KO was also a 'nice' one......
Slipx 07-03-2005, 08:29 AM it was a ****in brutal sucker punch. butler is conventional and he hit him with a straight right hand when he didnt even expect it. he has power too. had on his hand wraps still so you know it was like a 100 lb sledgehammer hitting you in the head.was a perfect shot to the side of grants head too. didnt hit him flush on the jaw but hit him like on the skull.
grant fell into his trainers arms and was unconscious.his trainer was dragging him around the ring unconscious .it was an ugly moment for boxing. i wouldnt doubt if that punch ****ed up grants brain
it looked brutal
RoyFlapsHisLips 07-03-2005, 08:36 AM Butler's ***** move was also during a 9/11 fundraiser card for all the firefighters and police officers that were lost.
Real classy ****ing move.
Slipx 07-03-2005, 08:45 AM anyone know what sentence he got for killin max's bro?
RoyFlapsHisLips 07-03-2005, 08:46 AM I don't think it's a done deal yet, if I remember correctly.
jayr517 07-03-2005, 10:39 AM Butler is a total piece of ****. I saw that suckerpunch when it happened live and I can't believe they'd let a piece of **** like that continue boxing.
