Bowe nixes Tyson 4-rounders!
By Flattop
Former two-time heavyweight champion Riddick Bowe is not interested in fighting Mike Tyson in a proposed four-rounder showcase. “My eyes is still on the big prize – the heavyweight championship of the World,” said former two-time heavyweight champion Riddick Bowe. Earlier this week it was reported that Tyson trainer Jeff Fenech was negotiating a series of four-round tournament against the likes of Evander Holyfield and Bowe. Fenech rationalized that Tyson doesn’t have the commitment to train for a ten-round fight but that he is “still explosive for four rounds.” Bowe dismissed fighting Tyson under such condition and he commented: “I highly doubt that Evander would want to get involved in a circus act.” Bowe and Holyfield competed in one of boxing’s most memorable trilogies in the early ‘90’s. Bowe is reportedly back in the gym and planning a return to the ring in the late summer or early September. Dick Gregory – the former comedian now-turned nutritionist – is working with Bowe on a daily basis to get his weight under control. After nearly an eight-year layoff, Bowe returned to ring in September 2004 at 265 pounds, an all-time career high. Six months later, Bowe weight a whopping 280 pounds in his second comeback fight. Gregory has an outstanding reputation of working with celebrities and athletes who have problems managing their weight.

Thumbs up unfortunately he is about brain dead to be competing anyways.

It's a shame it's come to that? But you didnt say anything about the purse involved? Cos nearly every fighter has a price?

Tyson would probably receive the bigger payday while the rest would receive peanuts.

If this does happen dont think all fighters will be treated equally, This is to Tyson benefit but there is noway in hell he would even knockout or win against Holfield in a 4 round fight even today.

Has anyone reminded Rid**** Blowe that a few months ago he was out on his feet against a guy that couldn't even get hired as a sparring partner for Kevin McBride?

I would give Billy Zumbrun a fine chance of upsetting McBride.

Tyson himself already said he didn't want to be the new King of the Four Rounders over on BT. He didn't want that tournament. That's just something Jeff Fenech said.

Tyson has only two realistic options. I think he should simply stay retired. But, if he feels like he has to come back again, he should get with Kevin Rooney. Rooney just mentioned on Fight News that he'd actually make Tyson work and I completely believe him. I don't think he'd put up with any bull**** and would make Tyson actually work out.

Really though, I have serious doubts if it would even matter. It does seem more like its Tyson's mentality now than anything. Even Rooney said that.

i think tyson needs george foreman to train him if he's serious. he already **** on rooney, hiring him again would be a bad idea in my opinion..i think if anyone can motivate tyson to where he was in the late 80's its foreman

then again i dont think he is capable of feeling that motivation again. i guess time will tell.

I think that the motivation to fight is whats wrong with him...He still has more skills than any one in the Division IMO...He just lack motivation to the fullest...

Tyson needs to stay out of boing. His spirit is just not with it. ! round or ten rounds he doesnt want to be in there. He simply doesnt have that eye of the tiger anymore
