Who's your pick.. I just read an article on Lance Armstrong.. Combining physical gifts (32 heartbeats per minute resting and VO2 Max numbers), as well as mental fortitude and toughness.. Also based on accomplishments..6 Tour De France victories in a row in arguably the most physical and emotionally draining event in all of sports.. Lance gets my vote for greatest modern day athlete, what say you:?

Avg human heart beats 60 times per minute at rest.. 32 beats per minute is phenominal.. It means his body is extremely efficient..It pumps the same amount of blood through his body with only 32 beats per minute as someone whose heart pumps 60 times per minute.. Also his muscles produced 25 percent less lactic acid than the average athletes.. This means that his lungs and muscles can be more efficient and work harder without burning sensation..

Kassim Ouma, easily.
and the 32 beats per minute thing really means dick. the guy could've popped a couple of v's to slow his heart rate..in fact that'd be good for cycling because youd pretty much be immune to feeling the pain from muscular fatigue..i heard of those cyclists doing barbituates and **** for lasting power..

Lance certainly dominates his sport like no other current athlete I'm aware of.
Tiger Woods may be second.
...I go with Lance too, but I heard years ago that his resting heart beat was in the 20's.
