View Full Version : Wow. I am new and read some posts here...
DPUMA8 06-30-2005, 08:17 AM I am beginning boxing and I was looking for a good forum to learn some things about boxing and after looking at this site for a few hours I am convinced that no one here is a boxer.
It seems that many here are fantasy street thugs that try to associate a lucky shot they landed (or dreamed of) as power that will result in them being a success as a boxer someday. Is anyone over 15 here? Who cares about backyard redneck punchouts. That isn't boxing. It is little kids dreaming.
Then there are the guys who might box, but are so full of themself that every video posted they say that they can beat them. Come on. That is lame.
I am serious about training and I was hoping that maybe I can be redirected to some good posts about training and diet.
If you are offended by my post, then I apologize but you obviously are some of the people that I am mentioning.
Man...some of you street thugs and backyard brawlers crack me up.
spinksjinx 06-30-2005, 08:49 AM Welcome to Boxing Scene, we have a lot of information here. However, while some might be some street fighting bar brawlers we do have some fighters here with amateur and pro experience. The material is here you just have to look for it.
Diet is simple: Whole grain foods, white lean meat, fruits and vegetables.
WATER WATER WATER
Keep it simple, nothing out of the box and run through the mill.
EVERYTHING NATURAL!
Sir Fancylot 06-30-2005, 08:50 AM If you look past the egos...there is alot of useful stuff here in the training section.
PunchDrunk 06-30-2005, 09:12 AM I pretty much agree with what you're saying. There are problems on this board. However, don't lump everyone into that category. There are people here who are real boxers and trainers.
Pugnacious_Z 06-30-2005, 09:17 AM hey dickhead, get the **** out of here if u dont like it, any of those backyard fighters wud kick ur ass, its not like ur a champ ***get. and i know, every1 wants to see backyard boxing matches, its fun, if u dont, dont download it, simple
Hunna 06-30-2005, 10:33 AM pugnacious z, spinx, 1st roundKO made some valid points. What u gotta do is sift through the rubble to find ur own gold. Some of the stuff u may not like, others do like, we all have diff. tastes, but u cant generalize everyone dude.

Your kind of stupid arent you. You come onto this forum as a beginner to the sport, "I am beginning boxing", then tell everyone here that they "are fantasy street thugs". Hold on a minute before you go any further, cos u talking a whole lot of **** that no1 is trying to hear.
Get your facts right about the members of this site, stop making dumass assumptions, and **** off cos i dont think many people want you here after dumb **** like that goes up.
U have posted once and made yourself look like a fool. Bad karma for you and i hope you take the hint.
Sir Fancylot 06-30-2005, 12:20 PM I recommend that this thread is locked.
Also, These "Fantasy street thugs" are aspiring boxers, you are referring to ONE instance in which pugnacious posted an unsanctioned match.
The fact is, all boxers begin as "Fantasy street thugs" or fantasy something else.

Yeah, but he's right. Half the people going on and on about stuff don't know what they're talking about. A select few do, but the rest talk out of their asses. That's why I don't post here often, I don't know a whole lot about training, and to learn about training, I go to training sites.
DPUMA8 06-30-2005, 02:27 PM Well thanks for the welcome. I don't think that everyone is just a fantasy street thug, but it seems that many are. I know that there are real boxers on this site but I can't seem to find too many of their posts. Sorry if some of you took it the wrong way. Some boxers are or were street thugs which is fine but it seems that 90% of those street thugs are really not trained boxers at all. This I am sure will rub many people the wrong way and I know I am on the hated list as I already have a few ratings that are bad, but I am just hoping to get some legitimate advice on training and dieting.
When I mean beginning boxing, I mean starting to fight in amateur bouts. I have been training for a year in a boxing gym and I am always looking for some extra knowledge that will help me get better and better. I have read some good posts on here but it is hard to sift through good advice from experienced boxers who use it in their training regimen, and training methods that might read well but does not actually benefit a boxer or is counterproductive (not from a boxer but a backyard brawler).
I think of boxing as a sport with strategy with rules and hard work. Some others think of boxing as meeting up with someone and just throwing wild haymakers until someone stops.
So for someone in my position, are there any posts or links I can be directed to that is good reading and will help me?
After a few links, can I lock this myself since it was requested?
eXig3-"Your kind of stupid arent you." Thanks for the new signature. That was a good one and very true.

DPUMA8 06-30-2005, 02:45 PM Thank you very much. What about links to other sites and articles that experienced boxers would recommend? Donation points given.

About the streetfighters, your thinking of Slipx......LOL!
PunchDrunk 06-30-2005, 04:06 PM Try Rossboxing.com
The forum over there is pretty slow, but there's tons of good threads and articles lying around on that site. I'd also recommend his training programs. Good basics. :)
DPUMA8 06-30-2005, 04:16 PM I don't mean to sound arrogant. It was just a downer when I read a good thread that turns into some macho internet who is better debates. Thanks for the heads up. Watched list.

Definately, I stopped goin to Rossboxing because it's SO SLOW now..
It used to be like here, but not no more, Ross doesnt even post there much anymore, and you ask a question it takes up to a few days to get it answered, but read ALL the old threads and you can find info...
