Byrd took the fight on a week's notice after the original challenger, Donovan "Razor" Ruddock, pulled out due to a hepatitis infection.

Byrd TKO Rd 10.

Nah, just kidding.

Anyway, I'm no Vitali fan, and I question his heart, but let's not forget that Byrd was well behind on the cards and needed a KO to win on points at the time of the stoppage.

By the way, I have highlights from all 9 rounds in the downloads section - link is still good for a few days.

I know, 10 minutes is a long time. But the point is that everyone seems to have decided that Vitali is the better Klitschko, and look what Wladimir did to Byrd and look what an injured Vitali did to Byrd. Add onto to that the fact that Vitali is worlds better now than he was back than, and that Byrd is worlds worse now than he was back then. I think you all know where this is going.

Wlad is shot. I don't usually tip turnaround results, but I'd be confident of a byrd win in this one

When I say shot, he just isn' the same. I wouldn't want to take one of his punches.

However, a combination of being beaten twice(KO), low confidence and stamina problem (maybe training related?) have resulted in a lesser man.
