I heard that Roy is calling out the winner of Tarver Vs. Johnson. Do you think he has a chance at a comeback? Or should he retire after those two devestating losses?

roy jones has said that if one of those fighters calls out his name he is going to fight them immediatley.no, i dont think roy should come back unless he is what he says he is. sorry i know ive said that a lot recently :o

No. Much as I love Roy, there is no chance of a comeback.

Any fighter can comeback if he wants, question is: will he do anything in his return. I think he could win another title and it wouldn't be that big of a surprise, I just don't see any reason for him to do it. There's just nothing to prove. And I don't feel like theres really any public outcry to see him. I think even most of his fans want him to stayed retire. It would be ashamed for him to get seriously injured in the twighlight of his career when he pretty much went through most of it unscathed(except for the last two-of course)

I dont think he should come back. I think it will be too easy for him to get a concusion now. However, Roy said himself that he probably cant stay away. I think it will take a little more sitting up in the hbo boothe before he gets hungry enuff again.

lol
serioulsy he is
he always manages to see punches lampey and merchant miss
its dem quick eyes
hes quick to correct dem when they call wrong punches
and he usually can see what a fighter is tryin or should do

Roy does see alot more of the punches that are landing and what ones aren't. compared to Lampley and merchant.

he's better because he has fought in the ring and has a lot of knowledge.in the trinidad/mayorga fight he said all tito kneeds to do is hit him in the body and look what happened.

wether one likes roy or hates roy...the last knockout he suffered was very scary to the viewer. at first it looked like he might have been seriously hurt.

I dont believe this. Roy has enough sense to know that he would look like a fool it he called out the winner of the fight on the 18. I personally cant see Roy coming back. I think Glen was his last shot.

You may be right. But sometimes pride will bring a fighter back, and something tells me that Roy doesnt want to go out people remembering him on his back against johnson.

He must be suicidal.

It's up to him, and i'm sure he could do well.

Move and keep the fight on the centre of the ring.

I hope he calls it a day though - he's taken enough punishment

Roy Jones is full of it. He knows in the back of his head both these guys took him out in devistating fashion and he dont really want any.

If Tarver wins, in my opinion it might be worth a shot for Roy to give it a go if he can stay busy most of the fight.

Tarver might have said a million things and Koed him in the rematch with 1 shot, but in my opinion there is a lot of fear from tarver about what he thinks Roy jones will respond with to his punches. And it was clearly evident in their first fight where he lost out of the fear that Roy was gonna get off the ropes and blow up in his face.

Johnson on the other hand he will chase roy all over the place and throw shots at him all night without respect which is no good for roy.

interesting point- johnson might actually be more dangerous for roy to fight.

...Roy needs to call it a day instead of calling anyone out at this point. He won't be satisfied until he is in a wooden box. He is not taking a big punch well and he is gonna end up getting killed.

like i said before- the last ko he suffered looked life threatening at first.

I think all he needs is a good long break maybe a year or so to clear his head and recover. He could make a comeback if he ever has the hunger again, I mean against johnson he hardly even threw any combos and was always laying against the ropes and thats just not his style. Going up in weight and then coming drastically back down affected him greatly mentaly and physicaly. He needs time to get his body back to it's natural size and he would have a good shot at a comeback.

My prediction: he's gonna make a return for one or two more fights in 2005--and win. Why do I think this? He is secretly in training right now, in his underground gym, below his house in pensacola (this is so reporters don't find out that he's in secret training). Even coach merk doesn't know that he is in training. This is because his dad is training him right now. He's going back to where it all began and he's slowly regaining his reflexes which will peak around mid 2005.

What Jones needs to do is go up to the himalayas and find the chin doctor, if there's a way to transplant all that ab muscles to his chin, then maybe just maybe he might make a fight out of it.

ok maybe call me stupuid...but i have not been wrong in my big fight prediction yet (proof is my money-but thats not important)

so call me stupid..but i think roy can do this..i mean he's not that old...i say he trains and comes back i believe he can do it...he clears his head...takes time to get confortable at 175.not do what he does which is go down to that weight and fight right away (that f**ks your body up)...i believe if anyone can have a comeback..its roy...cuz tito wont beat hop so there goes his comeback and tyson can only go so far..so if anyone gonna do a great comeback fight a make it big again-it's roy

There is no way a fighter can regain reflexes after they started losing them. Roy Jones needs a whole style overhaul if he wants to make a comeback. One that allows him to keep his hands up, uses a good jab and defense. Up until now his only real defense was being able to move quicker than his opponents can punch.

actually against tarver he was ko'ed by the punch...he tried to get up but didnt make it in time...

against glen..what helped that ko..was first he got hit in the temple second...dude..!..did u see how his head hit the ground...thats why that ko was so devastating...i mean crap..the back of his head hit hard...i dont believe he has a bad chin..he just go hit dead on by tarver..anyone would have gone down (it was a overhead hit..thatsall ur weight)

and this is by a poit of view of someone that isnt even realy a roy fan...i hated him before he lost to tarver,...i dunno sometimes i guess it take "superman" to lose to see how good he really was..i mean he took it tried to comeback (for the fans)..i mean the man is respectful...dude is cool..gained my respect

This has to be so tempting for RJJ. Think about it people, if RJJ comes back and beats the winner of Tarver/Johnson and wins significantly, almost everyone will think he is the greatest of all time period. If RJJ loses, people will say, oh so what he was finished anyway, he was expected to lose, he's not the same etc etc... BUT if he wins, people will be amazed and think he is the best there ever was, especially to comback from that kind of adversity. This is why Roy Jones Jr. would be so tempted to take this fight.

true, if he won he would be back in the spotlight again. not the same as before, but he will get some respect back. i wouldnt be surprised if he does fight again. i dont agree with it. but i wouldnt be surprised.

i don't think he should fight again. it's clear his punch resistance and motivation are gone. he could get hurt if he carries on.

lol i don't know about the ab muscle transplantation, that would look kinda freaky. but one thing he can do is shave off his beard. one less thing for his opponents to use for targeting

Maybe Johnson takes him out earlier. Tarver might just kill him in the ring.
