Never been a fan of his music, but i've always respected him from his businessman perspective, real rags to riches.

This furthers my respect for him. I don't care about his personal life or matters, but it looks like he's serious about acting and this shows he's dedication. Props.

I also remember Christian Bale did something as or possibly even more extreme for a movie called "The Machinist" where he plays a chronic insomniac.

Yeah, Bale's transormation was quite harrowing to watch. I read that he lost somewhere in the region of 65lbs for the role, weighing about 120lbs (coming down from around 185lbs). That's 1/3rd of his bodyweight!

like 160 lbs is malnourished , what is his height ?

He looks proper African and unhealthy to me.
