This would be an interesting matchup. Rocky Marciano was 5'10 185 lbs but what he lacked in size he more than made up for with an iron chin, incredible stamina, ability to knock you out with either hand, explosive crunching KO power, an amazing will to win, amazing ability to take punishment. Vitali on the other hand is a modern day giant standing at 6'7 and 265 pounds with a lean solid physique he has shown that he uses his size very well to his advantage. And can knock you out if he keeps you at a distance and finds his range. Who would win?

Alot of these average Heavyweights could beat alot of the former greats. Their just much too big these days. I'm not saying they couldn't beat them sometimes i'm just saying the average fighters today would do much better just because of their size, not their talent. As far as who lb. for lb. whose better, no question, Marciano.(for now)

If anything, Rocky is more of a light-heavy or cruiserweight. He would have been a great light-heavy or cruiser in today's boxing world. A more appropriate question would be, could rocky beat Roy, Evander at Cruiser or Waybne Braithwaite or Vassili Jirov?

you guys forget that there were huge heavys during all eras, but you dont hear about them because the good smaller heavies kicked their asses, trust me, vitali couldnt do shit in the 50's and especially the 70's, the guy could never go 15 rounds and marciano could duck so low i dont think klit could bend down to hit him, the guy is a dam robot

Marciano on the basis of chin, workrate and stamina. Marciano can go 12 rounds fighting at a steady pace and Vitali cannot. Vitali is too slow to catch him with a one punch KO (Marciano was only knocked down by extremely quick shots on the inside, and even then he got right back up). The Rock might have trouble landing his right early on due to Vitali's height and awkward style but eventually Vitali would tire and would get tagged. Whether it takes one or several, Marciano would KO Klitchsko.

lol the rock on basis of chin?yeah 2 small guys who started their careers as middleweighst dropped him but a 6'8 250 pound man who has great punching power couldnt?and wait vitali has a glass chin right seeing that fact he has never been knocked down..dont you people hate people who chin is so weak that nobody at this point in time has knocked him down?and his only fights he lost were because of cuts which would of never happened years ago because the ref allowed fights to continue and his other lost because he tore a ligament in shoulder..yeah vitali is a bum he cant punch and he has a glass chin and would be ko'd by a 185 pound man who cut even easier than vitali and was wild and slow and if he fought now would be a crusierweight..wait nope vitali in one lol :boxing:

Heavyweights of today are not quick enough. They are too big and when you watch their fights it just looks like they are shoving each other on the shoulder. They are barely throwing punches. Klitschko is big but slow and clumsier than Marciano was, Marciano was knocked down twice by quick inside punches and Klitschko can't throw quick punches.
Rocky 6th round KO
