View Full Version : Damn Anthony Mundine Is A Fraud!
Southpaw Great 05-23-2010, 04:51 PM Wow, he really did crap his pants at the thought of fighting Gennady Golovkin.
Even when Golovkin agreed to fight him in Aussie. Mundine had the chance to fight for the WBA title against a world class fighter. And just didn't want to know.
Back to fighting D Level oposistion I guess.
teofilo 05-23-2010, 05:23 PM This is not a surprise most of His fights are handpicked and his career has been manipulated for some time now, this fight was a chance to give Mundine some credibility that He badly needs.
Most knowledgable Boxing fans know he is a Big Fraud, and this cowardly incident will almost finish His already Dodgey career,he is not rated in the Top 10 of the WBC whereas Golovkin is ranked number 1 any tiny amount of Credibility he had is now gone.!!!!

Its clear you dont know anything regarding the management process in looking after a fighter.
Khoder offered Golovkin a deal when Sturm was made super champ.......Khoder agreed to 50% share Golovkin wanted 60% so deal was off.
Just because Golovkin says he will NOW will fight in Mundines hometown dont mean ****....Khoder wont lose control of the promotion like any good manager wont.

Just explain this to me.
Why can so many fighters, from so many different countries (including Australia), in so many different weight classes, consistently fight guys at the very top level, yet Anthony Mundine does not, and it is somehow not his fault?
You need to stop trying to deflect the blame onto the system, other fighters, other managers, etc. and just acknowledge the fact that he is more interested in making easy paydays fighting C-level opposition than he is in either testing himself or leaving any significant mark on the sport.
This is typical from Mundine. In his opinion all the work is done. He has won a world title, beaten Danny Green, made a stack of money. From here on all his career represents is him getting some more $$$$ for his retirement. People just need to stop being interested.
teofilo 05-23-2010, 06:43 PM Well said Dan,I think %90 of Boxing fans now He is a fraud.!!!!

Yeah, it isn't the "boxing fans" like us that are the problem. It is people who just follow the sport very loosely and basically just tune in to watch Mundine/Green/possibly a mega-fight in the States.

Dan... 05-23-2010, 07:11 PM Kats is a prefect example of going after big fights.
He is for sure.
He is nearly the anti-Mundine in many ways.
Kats is a prefect example of going after big fights.
yeah and vic, but to be objective about mundine. all hes career hes been in a fairly unique situation, where because of hes profile he hasnt needed to fight the best to get very good money. unlike other fighters who have to work their way up and chase the best out there, not just for title opportunities but its the only way they get big $$$$ as well.
teofilo 05-23-2010, 07:21 PM I remember many years ago was a Big fan of Lionel Rose and Johnny Famechon, but back then they fought for the real deal when it comes to World tiltles, they never had the choice they have now eg: WBC,WBA and WBO for example, and You see blokes like Mundine especially and Green also take advantage of that fact.
Back then if Rose or Famechon wanted a World Tiltle belt they had to fight the best Overseas or remain little known fighters here in Aus,very different situation now, they rightly or wrongly they seem to have a lot more oppertunities.!!!!

This is a really good point mate, and one that needs to be made.
I'm not even necessarily hating on Mundine. Who hear can say that we would take a different path? He gets great paydays fighting average fighters, when he probably wouldn't earn much more (if any) for fighting genuine class guys.
Having said that, it is natural for us as fans to dislike what he is doing and even to hate him for it. It is not good for the sport in this country at all. It is good for one man and one man only - Anthony Mundine.

I could handle him fighting bums if he didn't carry on like he was ALI or Mayweather.

All part of his smokescreen. He knows plenty of ppl hate him and love him for acting like that, so he maximises his earning potential.
Still, I agree it is extremely annoying.

cant argue with any of that. hes career, especially of late has been pathetic and the only people benefiting is team mundine.even though i consider myself a fan i can see why people hate him. because he was in a position to help and influence australian boxing in a much more positive way than he has.
ColWallace 05-23-2010, 09:51 PM Well on the bright side his career is nearly over, so we won't have to put up with the bull**** for too much longer.
At this point it's only gonna take one punch by one of these bums to end it all. Getting iced in a bum fight is historically hard to come back from. Crazy Kim almost did it.

We really need to get Mundine and Green out of the spotlight ASAP and hope that some of the other guys can generate some more positive attention for the sport. Guys like Vic, Katsidis, Geale and even the younger guys like Zappa.
I see they are putting that 'New Breed' card on MainEvent. Terrible, terrible idea.
teofilo 05-23-2010, 10:35 PM The other dissapointing thing is Years ago when the number 1` and number 2 were sanctioned to Fight for a World Title, they got ready to Rumble if either one knocked it back the backlash would have been enormous and the publicity for such a decision would have been incredible.
Then turn to this disgrace, number 1 and number 2 are sanctioned to Fight for a World Title and Mundine takes the Cowards option and does not sign the contract, hardly any publicity at all and no repercussions from the WBA at all,its time to take control of NBoxing and bring back some credibility so this can not happen again, because quite frankly if this trend continues Boxing will become a joke.!!!!

I think it already is a joke in Australia. The fact that Mundine and Green get 20 times the publicity of our guys that fight the world's best overseas makes it a joke IMO.
teofilo 05-23-2010, 10:55 PM Dan I really do think something has to be done to restore some credibility for the WBA,there has to be some accountability for especially the WBA rankings and the way they run the show,I mainly take notice of the WBC seems to give a more accurate idea of the standard of fighters in the World today.
It's interesting Golovkin is ranked number 1 contender in the WBC and Mundine is not on the radar,His camp will argue but I think they have that one spot on,the system now seems to reward Mediocrity turn the page back 30 years when fighters actually fought for genuine World Titles and we would not be having this debate,Mundine would be a good TV Ringside Boxer getting hardly any publicity at all on the World stage.!!!!!

It all gets back to the bum-beating doesn't it? If you're out-paying a career in one fight it means the career of the said fighter is a poor one and the fighter isn't a very good fighter.
Don't forget there are a lot of fighters he never paid. I believe Katsidis wasn't paid for his appearance on the Kessler undercard. He was the main support if memory serves. He took it for the publicity. That's disgraceful when someone - anyone - has to do a thing like that.
Beating up on Mundine is becoming our Pac/Floyd thread. Everyone has their established opinion, and Ult has his lone opinion. Whatever, it's getting as repetitious as NSB. Wow is that place effed.

I don't think the exposure is a positive thing, it is built on a lie. These two guys will have no positive lasting effect on the sport. I think boxing would be in a healthier place if Mundine had never switched over to be honest.

for the wrong reasons to be honest. we had a much better local fight scene before he came along trust me.
Sure it wasn't HBO or Showtime sort of stuff, but it was better and there was less ppv's local and international as well.
Mundine has done more harm than good for real boxing fans.

Very true.NSB used to have some variety to it.! now its just become so boring to visit because everything revolves around 2 fighters and 2 fighters only! pac and floyd.. really boring recycled **** over and over again.

Archangel22 05-30-2010, 06:05 AM I wouldnt say Green is a fraud. Isnt he fighting at the states now versing competition now? Hes old too he doesnt have much yrs left which is ashame, had he been younger it couldve turned out well. Mundine on the other hand is a joke, its like someone else posted. Aussies should talk about the REAL aussie boxers who actually punch above their weight as you would say. They may suffer defeats and get done but its better for the younger generation, those kids at the gym training. Rather see 100 fighters come out of oz in the next generation than see 2 fraud fighters.

The fighters on the card are as follows
Geale

To be honest I don't think there is heaps to get excited about over the New Breed card anyway. Kariz is pretty ordinary IMO, Geale should really take care of him easily. Garth Wood is about the worst fighter to watch of all time, Dib is a flaming ****sucker, Taylor and Hamden are shot to ****.
IMO its a disgrace that this fight has been put on MainEvent. Just ridiculous.
Philfy 06-01-2010, 02:26 AM "Shot to ****" sounds like a good title for a card...
Of course it wouldn't be completely shot without Big Bob and Gairy St Clair.

Jorge Daniel Miranda 36-8-0 from Argentina. Spent most of his career fighting between 140 and 147. He's got heavy hands too with a 28% KO ratio.
Mundine said he wants to fight Floyd also. Some gems:
"My main goal and my reborn focus is to fight one man – and that man is Floyd Mayweather,” Mundine said.
"There’s only one man that can beat Floyd and that’s me. I know that because I fight like him."
"He’s going to have to fight me. The fight will have to be made. I believe he can beat Pacquiao but I don’t believe he can beat me.”

ColWallace 06-03-2010, 02:10 AM It's true all roads lead to Floyd Mayweather, though I'm not sure about the detour through JD Miranda. Angulo, Cintron, Williams, Mayorga, Omar Henry... nope, Miranda's the man.
I'm just glad it's taken 40 odd fights and one decade for Choc to realise what his ultimate goal is. Whether it's dishonesty or self-delusion, someone has to put this guy out of his misery and save us the embarrassment of witnessing this sad charade.
It's not even funny.

Pac is something else.
Some should inform the Mayweathers who mundine is. I'm sure they could use a laugh.
brently1979 06-03-2010, 03:50 AM Mundine struggled with Geale, far from a world beater.
The Skill level of Pac and Floyd is light years apart.
Mundine is getting desperate for a headline I think.
Green is making him look bad.

teofilo 06-03-2010, 06:44 AM Mayweather V Mundine would be like New Guinea playing the Harlem Globetrotters at Basketball, its the Miss match of the century.!!!!
Just watch Mundiine will be sprooking this fight for the next 6 months or more then all of a sudden all bets will be off, because Mundine will want %60 of the Purse and he will want Mayweather to take %40,its a fight that will never be likely to take place but Mundine will get Mileage out of this whole Bull**** ordeal.!!!!!
