He sounds punchy as hell in the interviews i've seen this week. I first noticed it after the first Ward fight, but it is progressively getting worse.

I think we should worry bout getting people like Evander Holyfield out of the game. Gatti can still win fights.

Gatti's first language is French. What you're hearing isn't years of abuse ... its an accent moron.

Gatti shouldn't retire if he some how beats Mayweather, but if Mayweather...when Mayweather tears him up retirement is his best option.

I'm one of those people that think gatti will get beat this weekend. but yet i dont think this guy should retire. He has a huge fanbase, and he is an exciting fighter. One of my favorite fighters to watch, unfortunately he is fighting a guy who is out of his league this weekend.

Accent or not Gatti is starting to slur his words a bit. He's been in some great wars so something has to give eventually.

listen numbnuts, i've heard and watch gatti for the last 10 years. I know what sounds punch drunk and what doesn't. If you don't detect some slur in gatti's speech then maybe you've taken too many blows to the dome from all the beat-downs you've had coming.
Regarding the comment by others that he's still competitive so should therefore continue to fight, that's plain selfish on your part. His brain-pan doesn't care if he's still winning fights. All it feels is the repeated pounding it's subjected to.

There is at least one more fight I like to see Gatti in after (his win against) Mayweather: Arturo Gatti vs Ricky Hatton!
