It seems like Lampley and Merchant hate him. Everytime he wins they degrade his performance and then they say he is boring to watch. He is under contract with them so why would they hate him? I think it has to do with his leagal trouble, but this boxing and the guy is great in the ring.

I don't know about Lampley but I know Merchant does... Merchant has always had it out for Floyd.

...I think they probably reflect the typical boxing fans feelings. Run a poll with him in it. Ask who is the most hated fighter, and include guys like Roy, Judah, the Klits, and anyone else you like and I bet he would do quite well.

yeah they dont seem to like Mayweather very much, That countdown to gatti mayweather was really biased. It made Gatti look like god. I hope Pretty Boy breaks Gattis face and shuts those HBO Gatti nuthuggers Lampley and Merchant up

I dont often (actually ever) back up the hbo broadcast team, but I guess they have a right to their opion on the character of a fighter. Plus nobady gave Mayweather a script to follow during the interview; or what ever you want to call it.

I remember one time on Best Damn Sports Show Lampley was saying the best P4P fighters and said I won't say Floyd Mayweather.

Lampley loves Mayweather.

Did you not see the Bruseles fight?

The only person Lampley loves moves than Mayweather is probably Roy Jones jr.

He use to act like Roy deflowered him or something.

I don't know about Merchant. Who are Merchant's favorite anyway?

De La Hoya, Barrera, and who else?

They'll hate on him right until he starts tearing Gatti up, and then they'll be all over his jock.

They know he's the # 4 # king once Bernard is gone, and they'll be all over him.

HBO = Whoars.

It seems like all anyone does on HBO is talk about his leagal problems.

When Lamps said that on the Best Sports Show, I'm pretty sure it wasn't because of who was around--he seemed to be pretty stern and I thought it was a personal attack at the time...I guess I could be wrong.

He was like "You'll never hear Floyd Mayweather Jr's name come out of my mouth"...and he said it with a rather serious look on his face...and Bernard Hopkins wasn't there, it was Chris Byrd he was sitting next to, James Toney was in studio but not on that segment. The other two members of the roundtable were Merchant and Bert Sugar.

Awwwww ... poor Floyd. To think, a guy can't even beat his wife and pull guns on people in peace anymore.

Yeah exactly, what is there to like? The guy is a fantastic boxer, but he's a total piece of **** otherwise. Should HBO and it's commentators not be biased? Yeah probably, but I don't blame them if they are.

Can you blame them? He's boring as hell and thinks he is owed something.
I can respect the mans talent. But the man himself is a complete twat.

He's Roy Jones reincarnated.

The same people that call Floyd a piece of **** and hate him are probably SOMEof the same people that love Ricardo Mayorga... Go figure.

they hate him cause he talks way to much, did ya see the countdown on HBO? He talks like hes god and he talks so ****y, how he has all the bling and cars and how he loves strip clubs, I mean its cool if u do but ur a celebrity and u have responsibility and hes dissing Gatti for no reason, wtf? This guy could have been the next Ali if he would have been humble, he has the best skills out of anybody and imagine if he had a personality like Sugar Ray or Oscar. He would have brought boxing back to mainstream
