That's right MAYWEATHER is a skilled and talented fighter . . . a scientific one. . . so that possibility is real, though it maybe argued that he doesn't have the power to put 140 pounders down with one punch that can be easily compensated by his speed and mobility . . . he can beat them on points. . . :D :D :D against Tysu, Mitchell, Gatti . . . add Cotto those are PPV fight materials . . . if those happens it's going to be good for the sport . . . it's going to be good for the division.

Mayweather stood up against the strongest 135 pound fighter in Castillo and didn't get pushed around and handle it quite well. Castillo is stronger than Gatti but Gatti hits harder. I don't think Mayweather would allow Gatti to really have an opportunity to land a punch. Mayweather has the best defense in the sport today when he chooses to use it. Gatti has tremendous heart but he is a Class B fighter who has lost to every Class A fighter he has fought and I don't think this will be any different.

Look I like Floyd but you've got to be real. If Floyd wants to fight Baldomir and become the recognized champ at 147... that is fine. Since plenty of people claim, rightfully, that he is not the champ at 140 or 147. On the other hand, Margarito has earned his shot at Floyd. Face it, like it or not, Margarito is the second ranked contender in the 147 division behind Floyd with Baldomir as the champ. Margarito has held a title for 4 years and 6 defenses. Sure maybe he didn't fight the toughest guys in the 147 division but that is a combination of mandatories to retain a title (and some control over his career) and other guys not wanting to fight him... not his fault. Well I think the first quote was spot on... if Gatti connected on Mayweather like Corley did, it wouldn't have been good for Mayweather at all, considering Corley is not a power puncher, which means he got a perfect shot in on the chin. Gatti, who had decent power probably would have KO'd Mayweather had he landed cleanly.

this thread was made when mayweather was just another top fighter, very few people hated him at the time of this thread, people didint know what mayweather had at 140 yet, we really didint know how good hed be at all past 135, you cant say the people who said this stuff were haters, while the assesments were off badly, gatti fighting mayweather was a concern because of the wars gatti was coming off of and how it seemed like if you went toe to toe with him, youd die.

He would get more respect out of a Hatton, Mosley or DLH fight.
At least we know those guys are the real deal.

He fought all except for Mosley and he still gets no respect.
