That's what happened he didnt train much. He trained when he wanted to train and messed about the rest of the time.

From watching the Tyson movie about his life and reading the books about his life, it seems to me that part of the problem is that no one ever taught him right from wrong. thats what happens when one doesnt have a father or mother figure. when he was adopted off the streets he was put straight into the boxing gym.....where SUPPOSEDLY Rooney and Cuz would just turn a blind eye whenever Mike screwed up out in society. That is part of the problem. But I agree with you, ultimately Mike Tyson is responsible for his own actions.

We gotta be lenient on tyson. if we grew up the way he did, there would be a much higher chance that we would be as messed up or more messed up than he is. his achievements are pretty amazing considering the terrible environment that he grew up in

Tim Witherspoon once described him as some kind of gym rat. Always hanging around but you never quite knew why.
