Looks like DLH will be taking all of 2005 off. I think his career as a top prizefighter might just be done. He is one of my all time favs, but maybe he can give back a lot more to boxing with his promotional company. Congrats to him for knocking up his hot ass Puerto Rican wife!

I hope he doesn't come back and give us a Tito like distracted and unmotivated effort. If this is it, then godspeed to him.

De la hoya is finished, aside from that he is walking around at 180 easily if not more.

I tend to agree with you. He doesn't have that much fight mileage, like say a Chavez, at the same age. Chavez was going downhill already, conversley DLH's body and genetics are starting to get to him and he is in the begining of his descent.

Oscar is too busy with his promotional activities for his company. I doubt whethet he will come back ever, cause what has he got to prove in the near future in the boxing ring?

I dont think Oscar should come back he has had one of the best careers and has reached his peak and anything else will be downhill. I hope Oscar is smart and doesnt come back and I hope he keeps pushes his comeback away and forgets about it. The good thing with Oscar is his company is successful and I dont see it failing because if it failed I would imagine Oscar would get back into the ring.

We have seen the best for him and I wish him luck in the future, I just dont want to see him in the ring anymore.

I guess Floyd Mayweather Sr. better start looking for another big name fighter to bring to his gym, because De La Hoya doesn't want to do the dirty work of this sport anymore.

Yeah, he has so many other things to do besides boxing these days, but I think eventually a really big money fight is going to come along and he just won't be able to resist it.

No fight is big out there for Oscar, sure there is the Trinidad fight but that is the only one and that wont be happening. Anything else is ok.

He is finished, I agree he doesn't need boxing anymore. He doesn't the hunger but why should he?

Exactly, De La Hoya doesnt have anything to prove. Nothing is out there for him.

He has been there done that.

And I think Judah would have beat him badly because like you said its not in his heart anymore.

Oscar is not coming back because clearly he probally went to put the gloves back on and when he started training like someone said he just did not have it in him anymore. He obviously quit like a girl when he fought hopkins and it was obvious his handspeed was giving bernard trouble, in my opinion if this was dela hoya from long ago he would have beat hopkins he had the hunger and heart of a warrior.

Bernard is old but he has that hunger still and the reason is he needs to make more money for his future and establish his name, fighters like X, and winky, and so forth have not tasted the fame so they have that hunger still.

Mayweather Sr. is a great trainer but I think Buddy Mcgirt is my favorite trainer.

I don't agree with that bro
I think his one of the best ever...ask Jack

DeLaHoya just made him look bad, Mayweather is this generations greatest..

btw GOOD, I don't want to see DeLaHoya fight no more and pay $50 to see some bull**** fight..

DeLaHoya has done some real stupid stuff lately...

TheNextGreatChamp
Barrera-Fana PPV
etc.

if DeLaHoya can beat Judah, he can seal up his career

Hopefully nothing like Ali's daughter, she is a disgrace to the sport.

TheGreatest- DLH made money off of that Barrera ppv, so I have to hand it to him. I wont let his actions outside the ring account for his credentials inside. Because inside the ring Oscar is one of the greatest.

Can you blame him? At the age of 32, he has accomplished more than any other boxer in history...

DLH was one of my favorite boxers.. I believe his career ended after he fought Vargas.. after than, as a boxer, Oscar haven't had the same interest in the sport.. Even Mosley II DLH wasn't the same...

Prior to Vargas, both his losses he was robbed... A near perfect Career..

After just seeing Ike Quartey, I REALLY hope DLH doesn't come back. I remember Ike when he fought DLH, and he was light years past that time. His reflexes are slower, he can't see the looping punches coming. Ayyyy.... oh well, you gotta make a living somehow. That Bazooka jab is slower too. Don't want to see DLH go out like this.

DLh had his glory and its time to focus on promoting.
