I still don't know what's the difference between Majority decision and split decision... Help me out guys...

Majority decision is when 1 judge scores the bout even, and the other two judges both score the fight for one of the fighters (we'll say fighter A).


Split decision is when one judge scores it for fighter A, and the other two judges score the fight for fighter B.

Morales-Barrera I was a Split Decision

1 scored it for Barrera, 2 scored it for Morales

Morales-Barrera III was a majority Decition

1 judge gave it a draw

2 gave it to Barrera

i believe jones- tarver 1 was a majority decsision

if you go to boxrec.com and find either fighters profile you will see the scoring and how a majority decision looks....


also johnson- tarver was a split decision, so check out the scoring in that fight.

you will see the difference between the two fights
