I'm wondering if someone out there has some drills that can help my footwork. When pressured I have developed the bad habit of bringing my back foot forward, thus standing directly infront of my opponent. I looking for drills that will help re-inforce me to keep my back foot back, keeping me in the proper position.

thanks

use rope or string (shoulder-width) and tie it on to your ankle or use the fast-feet device. Both will work well. If you can't do either, shadowbox with proper form until you get used to it.

I agree with the above. Drills are good for footwork.

The way I was trained to maintain good footwork was spending hours early in my training career going up and down left and right and cirling throwing single jabs and 1-2s or nothing at all until the footwork becomes sub-conscious and natural.

Its really important to get it right though, cause if your balance is wrong its lights out.
