Junior Middleweight!?
There's nothing over there for him.
He probably just can't make 147 anymore, or he probably wants to make Shane Mosley feel like **** for following him, or he probably doesn't want to fight Zab Judah, or...wtf!? I dunno.

Don't sleep on De La Hoya, homos..

Lol.

I had a feeling he would not go all the way down to 147.

I think 154 is the best division for De La Hoya at this point in his career.

It's cause he is to fat and is in a comfort zone, I hope Winky comes down and Cory arrives at 154 and they jab his ass into retirement.

De la hoya is a great fighter no doubt about it but his better days are behind him and when you got Cory Spinks and Winky Wright there isnt much room to move around in a talentless division. (Although Winky may stay at 160)

154 is a comfort zone for DLH though, no big threat except Winky and Spinks. Vargas nor Mayorga would be very competitive for DLH at this point either.

What about Ouma...

Yay, now Wright and Ouma can kick his ass for 24 rounds!

I dont think Ouma would put up much of a fight against DLH, I mean I know he would punch no doubt about it but I dont think he would be able to land on DLH. He swings to wildly, Oscar is at the end of his career but a slugger still wouldnt beat him.

i think Ouma would do better than Spinks. Oscar would drill a hold in Spinks face

Would he fight someone who's with Golden Boy promotions?
Ouma is one of his fighters.

You guys are missing the point. This is about Winky moving up and dominating Tito like no one thought he would. Oscar could still make 147 if he wanted too but alot of people now are saying Winky is a top 2 pound for pound guy and Oscar thinks he actually matches up against Winky just about better then he even would the guys at 147. If you look at Winky's style then you could see that Oscar actually has a good chance even though I think he is way past his prime.

So what would you do? Move down to 147 and fight guys like Zab, Margarito, and Cotto or just move to 154 and fight Winky? Those other 3 fights will probally be just as hard if not harder then Winky and he wont get half the credit. If he beats Winky then he can retire on top and this is a very winnable fight in my opinion

DLH really has no favorable fight options at 154. I don't see him beating Ouma for three reasons. #1 - Ouma's workrate is unreal and he has an excellent chin. #2 - Ouma has great stamina and DLH is notorious for fading down the stretch of fights...Ouma's infighting and workrate are going to wear him out. #3 - Ouma would be hungrier than ever to fight Oscar because of the big pay day. He'd be at his best for sure.

DLH is bothered by strong fighters who put good jabs in his face (Shane, Sturm, Quartey anyone?) Winky Wright is basically your slightly smaller version of Sturm, except he's infinitely smarter and does more in his fights to make sure that he's going to win. Wright would simply walk DLH down and control that fight with the left jab and right hand behind it. I don't see DLH hurting Wright or even penetrating his defense for that matter. He'd be in a competitve fight along the lines of a Wright/Mosely II, but DLH beating Wright is somewhat far fetched IMO. After these two fighters...there are no real lucrative options at 154.

OG, i agree with your analysis. (very well written by the way). I'm the biggest DLH Fan out there, but i truly believe that Winky is not the right fight. I give him credit for going out there and fighting the best, and hopefully he can surprise some people if he is very competitive or even beats Winky.

Not true at all, Spinks is to fast for the older DLH. Sure a prime hell even a year or 2 DLH would rape Spinks in a fight but not now.
