I have the same feeling. There has been A LOT of quakes lately. There was that Tsunami warning because of a quake a couple days ago and there was a 5.something last weekend that I felt pretty good. Now this. I think we are due for a nice size quake in the near future.

I am glad I am not in California. Earthquakes? If the ground started shaking under me like that I would probably die. That is messed up. How does the ground just start shaking? Also, if posters die, would any of us ever really know it? It brings up the question, anybody you've ever talked online with that you just knew online but fell out of touch with, are they still alive or did they stop coming online b/c they're dead?

I think the when the weather gets weird it always shakes in Cali.
It looks like its gonna rain here Long Beach when it should be sunny outside.

one of the canary islands is set to collapse and will cause a tsunami so much bigger than the recent one. NY will be covered completely, as will half of europe i think but i cant remember exactly

How does the ground just start shaking?

Tectonism.

The earths crust is made up of many tectonic plates, they rub against eachother and sometimes submerge under one another fueling a myriad of other tectonic activities.

....I also have a feeling Cali is in for a big one. I was staying in Downtown LA near Pershing square in the intercontinental hotel and they had one in the middle of the night. It was like a 3 or 4 or something. I was all pissed because I didn't feel anything. I wanted to at least say that I felt a quake while staying in L.A. That was a great place to stay. All the major league baseball teams that played the Dodgers stayed in that hotel and it seemed like every time I was there another team was in the hotel. Got to meet all the Colorado Rockies one night. It was back when they had a squad too with all the homerun hitters. It was about 20 of the players and me and a buddy and nobody else in the bar. We sat right in the middle of em and they were cool as hell.
