View Full Version : what's you're favorite dirty move?....
there are fouls in everyfight. it's not the ones that the ref calls that are interesting. it's the ones he doesn't call (cuz the fighter who initiated the foul hid it so well)). every fighter fouls. boxing is indeed a 'controlled' war. even cutsey footsey fighters like mayweather and jones foul. don't believe me? watch mayweather bump a guy with his shoulder as his man rests his head on his body then swing at his temple. that's a no,no. or watch jones hold and spin a guy then unleash a hook to the body or an uppercut. they of course never get called on them as they hide it very well.
whether it's hitting the leg/hip opposite side of the ref, stepping on the lead foot of the opponent, hooking tight so it convenietly hits the elbow if you miss, etc.
things like intentional headbutts, hitting the groin are quite obvious and signs of frustration. i want to know which ones that are used to gain an edge are you favorite...and what you have tried out?
personally the spin move is great...you clinch then fake like you're comming out to engage then you spin him (slightly..too much and the ref callas you out on it) and hit before he ever gets his bearings and plant.
LuKahnLi 06-16-2005, 04:45 PM What a disgusting topic. If you have a significant strength advantage, then clinching is a subtle yet effective foul.
sisforshaq 06-16-2005, 04:46 PM I like the one Mayweather used againest Bruseles, where he kept pushing off with his elbow and firing hard over hand rights. The ref called him for it once but he got away with it
Dyl-G 06-16-2005, 04:48 PM i like the hand job
BoxingPromoter 06-16-2005, 04:50 PM I love how Ali used to push his opponent away from him with one or both hands. Another move I liked is when Ali held his opponent's head down to prevent punches from being thrown and/or to tire them out.
abdiel2k3 06-16-2005, 04:51 PM hmmmm
id have to go with
after throwing a lead left hook that lands flush on the face or body

if you look real close it happens in 90% of championship pro-fights. it's such an occurence that it's now pretty much a part of the game...
Martin (Top Knowledge) 06-16-2005, 04:53 PM what's you're favorite dirty move?.....
You could have named this subject slightly differently, because I don't think anyone (except an intentionaly dirty fighter) actually likes dirty moves!... LOL!... Or has a favourite.
When I used to fight, I didn't have "favourite" dirty moves I would try on an opponent.
But if we're talking about dirty moves... Bernard Hopkins like clock work hit's his opponent low on the opposite side to the referee... (It's like he's mastered always knowing where the referee is and which side to try it on ;)).

If you will look real close, I said that the topic was disgusting then promptly replied to it. Which would probably mean I wasn't really serious.

lol! i know. notice bernard is meticulous on who is ref'ing the fight.
ha,ha...and i know people don't necessarily have a 'favorite'...just ones they 'unintentionally' do...often.lol. :D

"just ones they 'unintentionally' do...often.lol. :D" That's funny man!... LOL!...
My favourite fighter of all time! Lennox Lewis used to hold the back of a fighters head with one hand and deliver an uppercut with the other!
That was a little naughty.

i agree. lennox was a bit underrated when it came to being slick. he was quite a knowledgable fighter in the ring...and quite a gentleman too. you'd have the feeling that if he fouled ya he'd give you a wink and a grin then say 'sorry bout' that chap...'.lol.

yea he does that constantly but he got called on it in teh castillo fight and because of it the match was much more even
I have never seen a fighter use it but Bukkakke is a pretty disrty move, isn't it?
boxerman 06-17-2005, 12:29 AM I could have swore that the title of this thread was " what is your favorite dirty movie" ........i was really curious what some of you people had to say. oh well.

This is my personal favorite.
snipes12 06-17-2005, 05:00 AM low blowing in manchester territory ...
if im fighting someone light feathed i like to step on his front foot with my front foot and punch, than i hit right on and they fall.

i agree it's a cutsey move...but they are pissed when they get back up...lol
jack_the_rippuh 06-17-2005, 11:09 AM That foot thing only works on people who don't distribute their balance evenly among both legs. You'll catch them everytime if they don't know how to move their head when in a tough spot.
My favorite dirty move is punching right on the hip. There's a spot, if it wasn't for the foul protector that if you hit it hurts so bad that it immobilizes them.
I also like the elbowing after throwing your shots to keep them back. Because when you land a combo, the other guy is most likely going to try to come back to rid you of the momentum and also have what he did be the last impression on the judges so right when he's coming in forearm him. Depending how he's positioned, you migth catch him with the elbow.
I also like those quick four punch combos to the testicle area. There's nothing more impressive in boxing than that.
Manny_P 06-17-2005, 12:07 PM ey, wut bout Barrera's intentional headbutt to Pac, BUT MISSED!! That shyt is priceless. LOL
Hatton's low blow to Tszyu, was VERRRRRY YOWZING kewl. lol
triggerhappy 06-17-2005, 12:15 PM dirty move that i do is when i am in a clinch i press my head against my opponents eye real hard so that his eye get blurry and i just whack him hook, right or uppercuts to the body

whoa i forgot about that one!! lol!.that works real nice especially in the later rounds when a lot of salty sweat has built up...stings for a little..but a split second is all you need.
MAXWELL_ 06-17-2005, 04:34 PM I like the one Mayweather used againest Bruseles, where he kept pushing off with his elbow and firing hard over hand rights. The ref called him for it once but he got away with it
in one of gattis interviews he mentions that he's going to be ready for mayweathers forearm and elbow to the throat that he's been getting away with and will fight in kind.
this could be an excitingly dirty fight. hope they have a las vegas ref in there that overlooks ? tactics. more power to gatti. he'll need it.
ricecrispi 06-17-2005, 06:53 PM Where do i start.
Against the ropes place my left shoulder into a guys throat and hold his body in a hug and lean into his neck area. Hold his head or place hand against the face so he can't turn his head. Cuts off the air.
Benard Hopkins good at this technique because he's taller and long arms he doesn't have to hold from the front but does it from the back! It looks so natural when you are taller.
clinch, place fore arm in the neck area and the hand on the shoulder and push the guy off you or spin around. Makes it look like you are try to break the clinch
Do it only once or twice. Ruiz does this all the time. you can make a carrer out of this technique.
Open thumb punch, use only when ref is behind the opponent. don't now any pro boxers doing this. Basically throw a jab or cross and tilt the hand 45 degrees.
Try to break an arm, bite the nipple, or the ear if you are losing. Mike tyson is famous for these.
