I’ve been doing a lot of studying recently on the three monotheistic religions, (Judaism, Islam, and Christianity), with an emphasis on current trends and movements. It’s interesting/fascinating to see those who actually have religious beliefs fall victim to a leader who influences them to become extremist and resort to rather anti-peaceful action, (our news likes to call it “radicalism” although that word is completely insufficient and ignorant to label them with); note: When I say “fall victim to a leader” I mean political and social movements as well as specific individuals.

What makes me start this thread is because when I was walking up to my office this morning, I saw news media at the mosque next door, (again), which I’ve been told is one of the leading mosque’s in Los Angeles county. This is what got me thinking about the conflict between Muslims and Christians especially within the US. Saudi Arabia has been sending books and other writings to mosques all through the US to spread their hate propaganda and calling them to action “against the infidels”. I find it interesting that I have a bible on my desk, and am 100 feet away from a leading influence in the Koran... I can’t help but feel a respect between the historic conflict between the two religions, as well as a sense of awe and wonder of what this country is eventually going to end up like. We can’t have peace forever, just like we can’t be a superpower forever; I can’t help but wonder if the extremist Muslims will have something to do with our inevitable demise.

What are your thoughts on this?
