Jermain Taylor's first big test at middleweight as he took on former middleweight champion William Joppy. Early on in round one, Joppy was making Taylor get frustrated with his very good jab. Taylor came on very strong with power shots at the end to steal the round.

In round two, Joppy was hit with part of the glove to his eye and was unable to clearly see. Taylor took advantage of Joppy's eye problem and landed plenty of good shots take another round. [details (http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&id=362)]

So that's it for JOP. Time to exit the scene.

I'm can't be more estatic . . . I was being tempted to bet on JOP because of that 7 to 1 odd . . . :D good for me!

I second that emotion! Joppy was a joke! It looked like he thought not getting knocked out meant he won, which for him, it obviously did. So long, Joppy! After this, what's the point?

I've only seen him fight three times. Hopkins, Trinidad, Taylor. I realize these were probably the best he faced, still I wasn't impressed. He simply wanted to last the distance. Time to leave while he can still speak his words without slurring.
