View Full Version : Is Samuel Peter a new force?
Nautilus 12-04-2004, 09:34 PM He looked very impressive this time against Williams, and very unimpressive in his previous fight with Pudar.
Peter looked like a complete ego-maniac talking about "me me me ..." all the time, not even worrying about Williams being unconscious for a long time.

Colonel Jones 12-04-2004, 09:39 PM I think this will be the kind of guy who can beat alot of good fighters but get outclassed by just as many good ones. Doesn't seem all that versatile. Just my opinion.
bchynn 12-04-2004, 09:58 PM So, who is his next opponent?
Nautilus 12-04-2004, 11:13 PM So, who is his next opponent?
Samuel demanded Vitali Klichko.
Samuel demanded Vitali Klichko.
Just like everyone else in the devision.
Sam has still a lot to proove. He hasn't done anything yet that'd make him a legitmate contender. I'd like to see him fighting Valuev next.
Mr. Untouchable 12-04-2004, 11:50 PM I can see Peter get beat by Rahman, but I think he has a legitimate chance against Vitali. I have to give him his props tonight though, because I thought Williams was in a coma. I really think Peter might have gotten some peopl'es attention with that left hook...It was devastating!!!!!!!!!!

hmm ... what chance does he have against Vitali? why do you say that?
Mr. Untouchable 12-05-2004, 12:58 AM hmm ... what chance does he have against Vitali? why do you say that?Because I think Vitali can be knocked out and I think Peter has the power to do it. Peter throws big looping over hand rights that have been landing on the back of the head and shoulders of his opponents, and Vitali stands straight up and is tall and is hitable and I think that one of those rights will land flush on the chin and drop Vitali to his knees...
Neuraxis 12-05-2004, 01:12 AM You forgot to mention that Peter looked unimpressive against Shufford as well. I still don't understand how he couldn't KO Shufford whose chin appears to be glassier than Michael Grant's everytime I've seen him fight. Peter looked more impressive tonight than he looked in his previous two performances, but I am still skeptical.
neils7147933 12-05-2004, 01:20 AM Sam Peter is garbage. Jeremy Williams wasn't anything special.
Peter's looping punches are asking for a straight shot to the face. This fatass shouldn't be on TV; he could beat Brewster, though.
FUBAR 12-05-2004, 01:35 AM Yeah, it doesn't help that Jeremy Williams belongs in a can with some other familiar round red objects, but Samuel Peter ain't convincing me. Who knows what bums could be successful in the current heavyweight division though. It takes every kind...literally.
Nautilus 12-05-2004, 01:57 AM Because I think Vitali can be knocked out and I think Peter has the power to do it. what did you give me bad karma for ?
nezahualcoyotl 12-05-2004, 01:58 AM no not really...he beat a tomato can in there today.
nezahualcoyotl 12-05-2004, 01:59 AM i called that shyt..i seen jeremy williams fight b4..man that guy was a piece of shyt with a big mouth...man karma is a *****! lol

that sounds familiar
psychopath 12-05-2004, 02:02 AM what did you give me bad karma for ?
Never mind Bro here's the replacement. ;)
24karatrold 12-05-2004, 02:11 AM While we should all be careful not to overrate Peter, he is 24 and he canm knock down a house...that might be enough in this field.
MikeHunt 12-05-2004, 03:26 AM Williams pulled out and back with his hands at his side and got exactly what he deserved. His amatuerish mistake probably ended his career and I'll bet he replays it over and over again in his head for years to come. Lets hold off on the hype and look at the fight for what it really was...
deuce_drop 12-05-2004, 03:37 AM williams is wasted talent, good job by peter though. i'm just bent that williams went out like that....
Kimmy 12-05-2004, 10:34 AM Peter is a propect. He fights very wild at times and Williams was tagging him with the jab for much of the first round. He is built like a tank though, from his fights up till now be probably has a decent chin. His defence isn`t great and his footwork is on the slow side, hand speed flairy ok. I think he needs more fights and to train harder, he looks a little heavy. If he can sort out the training,he coud be a force.
bchynn 12-05-2004, 03:42 PM Someone like Rahman should knock Peters out.
dempseyfire 12-05-2004, 04:12 PM If Peter can take a shot, he can be a titleholder. He just as good as Tua when Tua got fat, I reckon.
Great 12-05-2004, 04:16 PM Poor Williams. Brutal KO.
QueenCity 12-05-2004, 05:11 PM Sam Peter is still just a prospect, he gave a brutal punch to a guy in horrable boxing position. I remember after I saw him against Puder I hoped I would never see him again, but after that brutal knockout last night hes at least got me interested in him.
Hurlex 12-05-2004, 05:17 PM first off...what ko ..thats for sure
i think he's just a propect...to early to tell..but from what i saw, with all those looping rights/lefts, vitali or rahman will KTFO of him and badly..he leaves himself to open...but i wouldnt mind seeing him against ruiz or brewster
and byrd would out class him all night
Hurlex 12-05-2004, 05:17 PM *what a amazing ko
ChrististheAnswer 12-05-2004, 05:26 PM Peter is a good prospect and he is a force in the division. He is only 24 so he will improve and get better.
Eyeh8you 12-05-2004, 05:28 PM Because I think Vitali can be knocked out and I think Peter has the power to do it. Rahmam has been knocked out many times!!!!!!!!!!! Vitali has never been down??? Yer answers and statement makes absolutely no sense?
Kimmy 12-05-2004, 05:43 PM Klitscko has a decent chin i reakon. Peters` Chin remains unproven but so far so good. I wouldn`t say Peters is crap though, he has done wht he has suppoed to have done so far, lets wait and see, give the guy a chance. He earned that chance last night.
reebox8225 12-05-2004, 06:10 PM Peter still has a lot to work on before he ven thinks about fighting for a bilt.
Because I think Vitali can be knocked out and I think Peter has the power to do it. .....That punch was a fluke IMO. Vitali leans back to far and is too tall to to get hit with that same punch. Also, he has proven to have quite a chin(never been knocked down or out) so why the hell would you think he is vulnerable to getting knocked out by anyone, much less Peter?
tri4ben2 12-05-2004, 06:14 PM Unfortunately, you could not see how good he is by that fight.
I picked Williams to win, and I still think that he would win a decision.
Peter's wide shots are going to leave him open against a fighter that can fight inside.
As far as marketability goes, he just earned himself some more six figure paydays.

....Oh and another thing, Rahman has shown to have a far more shaky chin than big Vit so why the hell would you think Rahman wouldn't get KTFO or at least be more vulnerable than Vitali? Your post is crap and based on nothing but your heart or dislike of Vitali.
Neuraxis 12-05-2004, 06:33 PM Klitscko has a decent chin i reakon. Peters` Chin remains unproven but so far so good. I wouldn`t say Peters is crap though, he has done wht he has suppoed to have done so far, lets wait and see, give the guy a chance. He earned that chance last night.
That's not entirely true. He was supposed to KO Pudar and Shufford, but he didn't.
jabsRstiff 12-06-2004, 07:24 AM Jeremy Williams has always had a weak chin.
I saw him knocked unconscious as an amateur, which is a bad sign.
Don't forget, Henry Akinwande knocked him out with one shot, 8 1/2 years ago.
Peter is an ordinary fighter.
ejk22 12-06-2004, 10:04 AM Sam Peter is as powerful as an ox, but he is slow as ****. Too many round house punches that a seasoned boxer would take advantage of and hit him with a one-two combo. He still needs work before you can label him a contender.
At the very least we are talking about the heavyweight division so I guess thats a positive...I think that Peters people should get him in with Johnny Ruiz as soon as possible...Get PEter in great shape and just tell him to wing wild shots all ****in night...is there anyone on this site that would have just loved for that punch to have connected to Ruiz's chin instead of Peters...thats exactly how I want Ruiz to be knocked out! It could happen as mechanical and plodding as Peter is I would like to see him in with Johnny.

i just imagened that and life seemed to be a little better to me now. Peter vs. Ruiz is gonna be something. :)
Akinwande,Donald and a few other decent heavies have also beaten Jeremy Williams but none of Williams had too much success after beating him Akinwande I think won the WBO belt but then lost to Lewis. Peter seems to have momentum and youth on his side so he could make some noise especially if he continues to up his competition slowly. It's nice having a tough guy with a good punch they make the division exciting. Would like to see him face a few more boxers ,Williams is not a boxer more of a slugger.
bchynn 12-06-2004, 01:32 PM Thikn of it like this...is Peters a fighter you'd like to see as champion? Does he have the tools? I wouldn't want to pay to see him fight.
Tyson'scolon 12-06-2004, 01:45 PM There isn't a heavyweight on the planet I would pay to see fight right now. Hopefully, somewhere, a heavyweight will emerge to restore some luster to the big boys.
Mr. Violence 12-06-2004, 04:02 PM He looked very impressive this time against Williams, and very unimpressive in his previous fight with Pudar.

he is definitely one to watch. Given the current state of the heavywieght division he just might be a force.
he couldnt take out shufford, who wlad demolished and even mccline KO'd.... williams cant take a punch, lets see peter take on someone durable like donald or rahman
TheFairPole 12-06-2004, 05:33 PM I think peter has pretty good hand speed and power. A technical fighter with good defense beats him easily! Especially if they can last past 4 rounds with a guy who wings shots like that. I really wanted Williams to win though... Too bad for Jeremy! I was impressed though.
