With a left hook to the body Felix Sturm knocked out Cherifi after 2:06 minutes in the third round.

The fight starts slow with Sturm clearly dominating the first round with his jab and aggressive style.

Lil problems in the second for Sturm after he got hit in the eye with Cherifis left thumb. Sturm is the aggressor and backing Cherifi up.

In the third Sturm has enough. He throws and lands at will. Right Uppercuts, left and right hooks to the body and head are all landing. Cherifi looks hurt. Finally Sturm knocks him out with a wicked hook to the body. Hassine can't make the count.

Sturm worked on his power and muscles. This fight actually took place in the supermiddleweight division. He showed everyone who watched that he can fight any style anytime, being the aggressor and putting constant pressure on Cherifi who is a former WBC Middleweight Champion and has tons of experience.

After the fight Sturm said the he wanted this fight because he wants to stay active and he needs to fight a lot to be motivated. His next fight is sceduled for march but he didn't conform that Trinidad will be his opponent. He said once more that he wants to fight the best there are and that he is confident that he can beat everyone out there including Hopkins. Felix is a lil disappointed because he feels that some of the champions out there only fight for money and turn down everything in order not to take a risk.

Last but not least I'd like you to know that it took Felix Trinidad 4 rounds to knock Cherifi out who is no Top 10 fighter anymore and just couldn't handle what Sturm had to offer.

The one with the weird pony tail. He was Trinidad's last opponent prior to his two year layoff. He has also faced Joppy, Harry Simon, Keith Holmes, and Howard Eastman.

I think Chieffi is shot to hell but Sturm did a what he was supposed to do. Even before this fight i thought Sturm was a dangerous fight for Tito, I think Felix better take it very seriously.

If boxing would be about what people deserve he'd still be champion and sceduled to fight Hopkins for the unification of the belts.

Cherifi is an easy one but Trinidad will not. Trinidad by TKO over Sturm.

Great Fight from Felix. The body shot was excellent. I think he is ready for a big fight against Tito or Hopkins. But I think he has better chances to defeat Hopkins because Hopkins beginns slow and Tito beginns very agressive. Sturm can enjoy his Jab against Hopkins better than against Tito if you ask me.

I'm curious to know if this guy is the real deal. I'll have to pay more attention to him in future fights.

Do you see the De La Hoya/Sturm fight? I can't believe that there is still anybody out there who say that De La Hoya kicked Sturm's ass. Thats nonsens. Sturm kicked De La Hoya's ass.

I love DLH but he lost to Sturm. I had it close but he lost. He practically admitted he did in his post fight interview too. On the other hand, I thought he beat Mosley twice and Trinidad. You get some decisions and you lose some. That's boxing.

That's just you trying to be funny right?

C'mon Jack, you are into boxing, you've watched some fights and I believe you train as well. You should know how to score a fight. So would you please explain me how on earth DLH could've won that fight while Felix outpunched and outlanded him by a large margin?

I mean it's not that big a deal. DLH is clearly not at his best at middlweight, he should be already past his prime and he didn't look in shape against Felix. But he lost and it wasn't even that close. He's just not in Felixs league at that weight class. Period.

Sturm looked very good against DLH he seems a worthy opponent.

Well said...116-112 Sturm over DLH.

I finally got a download going on the Sturm-Cherifi fight so I'll try to upload it to the full fight section before tomorrow morning. Sturm is the best middleweight in the world outside Hopkins IMO.
