10 or 8 oz? i think. in amatuers its 10oz, i dunno about the pros, it varies, due to the vast variety of brands etc...

wow never heard of 6oz in pros but don't know for sure. welterweights are 8-10. and i thought there was a squabble between ltwts morales and berrara with the gloves... at least the make maybe not the weight. i know berrara gave in and used morales choice. he had to slit the glove to get his hand in, i thought i heard 12oz but i could be wrong. someone know more?

Wdf 6 oz for pro and 10-12 for amateurs. Thats completely wrong i could swear down. I swear pro's use like 16 oz gloves at least and the amateurs like 10 or 12 like what was said. In Ali's day i think they were even 18oz and upwards not 100% though.

So why the **** do i spar with 16 oz gloves. Is it to get me used to the weight so when i get in the ring my hands are ultra fast or something?

In sparring I'm sure fighters use bigger gloves but in most professional matches 8 or 10oz gloves are used.

exactly. also you get more protection on your hands cuz there is more padding in a 16 oz. glove than a 10 oz. glove

also with 16 pz you have less power, so if you build a lot of power with 16oz gloves would be even stronger with 10oz

I know this guy who fought a European title fight at Cruiserweight. His gloves for the fight are at my gym, because he is trained by one of my co-trainers. I'm pretty sure they're 6 oz, but I'm not a 100% sure. They could be 8 oz. Anyway they're THIN, and the material used for padding is ****. You feel your knuckles right through, I'd rather get hit with bag gloves, haha..
The main reason for sparring with heavier gloves, is guys won't pound each other to mush in training. It's a lot of rounds through a career, and it won't make you any smarter. :D
