nance 06-12-2005, 02:15 PM My son's swim coach was also my daughter's water polo coach for three years. We became friends over that time. I'm extremely disappointed in her at the moment as she abandoned the boy's swim team.
Today, we're having an awards banquet without the coach. The boys are so pissed at her that they don't want to even talk to her. She showed up for CIF's two hours late. She won't return phone calls, not even to her friends. No one knows what is up and as one of the other coaches said, it's one thing to drop the ball on yourself, but to do it to your team is just plain wrong. 13 boys are still going to have an awesome time tonight because another mom, me, and the girls' coaches are putting together the banquet for tonight.
I'm just shocked and disappointed...so is my son. :(
And yes Agony, I know I should post about other stuff...but I don't know what else there is aside from my kids...lol. :p
MCM, you by far are one of the most amazing awesome moms I know! I want to grow up...er... one day, to be just like you! Honestly :)
Shrugs, who knows could be alot of "personal" problems in her the coaches life. Lets just hope shes allright, are you close enough you could stop over her house and see whats wrong, as a friend?
Wizard 06-12-2005, 10:11 PM Maybe she got hooked on crack?

I thought about that, but since she's the one who 'abandoned' us. I think the four phone calls I've made are enough. The last one I left a message similar to this. "L, it's Nancy again. I am hearing all sorts of stuff and I want hear from you, if you want to share it. If not, that's fine. But please call me out of respect of our friendship."
Silence.
The Mouse 06-13-2005, 10:11 AM I’m surprised that the school hasn’t fired her yet.

She was fired. She also didn't turn in the information, so there was no "Most Improved" MVP, etc awards.
I just wish she'd call me.

See now leaving is one thing, it's bad enough but to neglect to acknowledge the kids improvements and such like the MVP is just selfish, that women must have personal problems.

Wizard 06-13-2005, 12:16 PM ahhh sarcasm, I don't think I'll ever master detecting it on the internet.
nance 06-13-2005, 05:56 PM Wizard wins. Not that I know what is going on, but she's been seen at work. She still runs the city pool and teaches jazzercise, but nonetheless, she disappointed 13 boys. One of them asked me last night, "L doesn't like us, does she?"
The boys were so pissed at her showing up 2 hours late to the CIF Championships that they were ready to have her schedule the banquet and then all of them not show up.
I would have supported it tacitly.
