I know most of you felt that kid diamond beat casa but lets just think about the corrales casa fight for now. Who do you think would win the trilogy?

I'd say that Corrales wins by late stoppage if the fight was to happen now. If Casamayor couldn't convincingly beat Kid Diamond then I don't see him beating Corrales now. The Casamayor of two years ago would have easily beaten and stopped Kid Diamond last night.

Casamayor has been getting hit alot lately. He's no longer the quick and slick fighter he used to be.

Corrales has a hard time with Casamayor for some reason. Chico is in fact on top of his game but he also just came off an insanely grueling fight.

Casamayors elusiveness has left him a little and he's easier to hit now. He also doesn't punch enough to outpoint Diego anymore. He does have skills and ring intelligence though, and he's proven to have a pretty damn good beard.

Corrales scores a KD and wins by decision 115-112.

Casamayor is pretty tough and has a good defense. He's going down the hill since he's been amateur boxing forever and still fights like one. Casamayor can only win by decision like in the first fight and that was really close.
I think corrales has him figured by this time and get a decision or TKo stoppage but no KO.

If this were a couple of fights ago for Joel Casamayor then I would say that it would be a razor close fight. But he has had four or five really grueling fights in a row and has lost some heart-breaking decisions, and that has to take a tole on a fighter... So due to that I would say that I figure Diego to take a competitive but pretty decisive decision over Casamayor.

Casa beat Corrales by TKO in their first fight because Corrales was bleeding in his mouth like a fiend. He also put Diego on his ass twice with excellent counters.

Corrales took a very close SD over him the second time and it's debatable who won. I thought it could have gone either way but Casa did go down in round 10 and I had no beef with the decision either way.

NIGE, I agree that Casa's grueling fights and tough decisions probably have taken a toll on him. I thought he beat JLC but I didn't have too much of a problem with that decision or the Corrales II decision. Both were very close contests and Casa always seems to have to climb uphill after losing early (except in the JLC fight where Castillo came back).

Anyway, I think that Casamayor/Corrales III would be a competitive yet decisive win for Diego just like you phrased it.

Corrales went down in the 10th not Casamayor. I have no problem with the decisions in the Corrales rematch or the Castillo fight. I had Casamayor winning both of those fights close though. Going by my scorecards Casamayor would still be undefeated with one draw. I thought he beat Frietas in a close decision and thought last nights fight was a draw.

I just think that at this point in time Casamayor has just slowed down too much to beat Corrales or even survive the distance. Corrales caught Casamayor with some good shots in thier two fights but Casamayor was able to survive those spots. I just don't see him being able to do that now.

couldn't say it better.
corrales improves every fight. would love to see how much more power corrales brings up to 147. he's got to be hurting and dehydrated at lightweight. want to see him against real good true boxers like floyd and zab to see how much boxing skills he really has. want to see him on a level playing field at 147 against mayweather. i think there is a good chance the outcome would be different second time around if goosen helps him neutralize floyds style.

Corrales by brutal KO midway through the fight. I think Corrales is the only one who's gonna KO Casamayor, but he definitely would in a third fight

Casamayor had more trouble with Nate Campbell than he should have. That fight was just before his two bouts with Corrales. I thought Casa looked like a fading fighter, but he wound up giving Chico absolute hell.

Casamayor struggled far more with Seda than he should have, just before he rose in weight to meet Jose Luis Castillo. He wound up giving Castillo a serious run for his money.

My point is...because I've seen him look shaky before, only to step it up in the bigger fights....I'm not ready to write him off just yet.
I'd favor Corrales to beat him, but I think it would still not be an easy task for Chico.

Diego gets better as he gets heavier. This won't be muscle starved Chico Corrales like before in their first 2 meetings (should there be a third).

Corrales will win via stoppage late.
