I was pretty impressed with this dude. Showed great chin and I thought he won all 3 rounds. Wasn't the most technical fight ever but god damn it was entertaining...

One of the most entertaining fights I have ever seen. Bring on the rematch!

I am such a stickler for good technique, but after years of watching MMA stand-up, I've lowered my standards and actually enjoyed this particular fight, lol.

But, watching the Korean fighter last night, he didn't seem to have a particular style, I couldn't really tell if he was more of a stand-up guy, ground fighter, or maybe a jack of all trades.

One thing is for sure, he's sloppy as hell( so was Garcia), and he likes to fight, lol.

He's less sloppy than Garcia IMO... I don't know, man. It's hard to make that distinction, it's really hard to tell between those two, lol.

All I know is this, it gives me hope that I can do it too, when I see that, that level of skill is allowed on Primetime t.v., jeezus, it's really hard on the eyes as a hardcore fan, ya feel me.

I'd rather watch the technique of Silva or Aldo any day, but for entertainment purposes that was great.....

He's a MT artist who uses a karate stance to cause confusion. His judo is amazing.

This fight is the equivalent of Griffin/Bonnar in a way.

Sloppy, fun, action filled fight and being it was free on ****e, it could bring the attention to the WEC that it deserves.

However, there is no way in hell Garcia won that fight.

Long time no see J. Yeah, it was sort of a bad decision but I can't really hate on it because it was very very entertaining.

I don't know how he got the nickname but if you watch him fight, he looks like a damn zombie. He's all lanky/floppy and keeps comming forward no matter what he gets hit with. Like a zombie and he is Korean, so he's a Korean Zombie.

Awesome nickname but the best I heard in MMA was 'Stun gun'. Best nickname imo.

Not much man. Shin splints are kicking my ass right now, I can't do anything and I recently realized that i'm gonna have to go back over horse-stance training because my quads and hams have suddenly gotten weak. I can still do correct form and kicks but my stance is weaker and can be broken. :nonono:

Chan-sung was kinda cheated. He dropped Garcia in the first, then rocked him something fierce in the second but I give that round to Garcia, then in the third Chan-sung was pressing the action and landing alot more than Garcia. 2-1 Chan-sung imo.

He's kinda like Hideo Tokoro with his do-or-die style.

You can watch it here if you want.... http://mma-fighter-videos.com/2010/04/leonard-garcia-vs-chan-sung-jung-wec-48-fight-video/

damn bro. that is rough training to do. the best training i have found that incorporates mabu zhuang is the twist towel and fetch water exercises from my practical method chen taiji class. i find those, and the 6 sealing 4 closing exercise to be most important. i do 100 reps of each every morning. and another 100 reps for each individual variation of. and more in the afternoon the exercises not only help build leg strength, but build the the potential of the kua. these have easily upgraded my xingyiquan and baguazhang. hong junsheng's jibengong is no joke, that **** is potent!

i would just add that, leg strength doesnt equal good root. the use of the kua and micro adjustments go a helluva long way. check your PMs.

yeah, i saw that cat fighrt before i think as well. if i remeber correctly, dude had a nice brawling style. a non quit constant "bring it" type style.

Thanks for the link, I just watched the fight! But...

I didnt see Chan-sung landing a lot more in the 3rd at all. In fact in the first half of that round the only thing that was landing was Garcia's leg kicks. And after that point Garcia gave just about as good as he got. The Zombie was getting a little big better of the exchanges but that doesnt change the fact that Garcia was much more effective for the first half of the round.

I thought Garcia won rounds 2 & 3
Maybe it's because I was watching the fight with a bit of bias
