I know that most here, hate Merchant because of his derrogatory comments and offensive questions, but can you recall a comment that you liked, agreed with, or thought it was creative. I got one. It was when Trinidad faced Whitaker and Merchant said that Pernell was the kind of boxer who could make Michelle Pfeiffer look bad. I thought it was an almost funny line.

Oh yes . . . his comments and monicker for Manny Pacquiao during the PAC/MAB fight . . . "TYPHOON from the PACIFIC" . . . it's original :D

Merchant is the reason why hbo commentating team is the best. Without him they would be boring.

Okay, gonna pay for this, but he occasionally makes a remark about Jones' losses of late, in a 'subtle' manner, while Jones is sitting there beside him commentating. (Dont hate me for pointing it out, or for enjoying it when he does it :o Ya'll are use to me by now, and I've behaved lately)

Oh, but that is true. They have always been Roy and De La Hoya huggers.

I think what kills me the most is that he says something like "yeah, just ask Roy" (or something like that) and Roy's just sitting there, right beside him

You can't stand their nuthugging. What about the bummed they sounded when DLH "fell" against Hopkins? Even though it was all a joke, Lampley sounded like a member of his family had died. When he said something like "He hasn't been down in five years and it doesn't like like he'll get up".

Hey, Lampley is the worse...thats why I love when Steward is there...he's usually not that bias (and knows what he's talking about, which is a bonus). Remember last week when Roy was "pulling" for that guy (I think the Aussie) and all of a sudden they ALL were just dying for him to open up and do something. So, when he did do something, it was the most awesome thing in the world. I think it was the last fight before the Morales-Barrera fight. I kept thinking "yeah, now that ya'll know ole Roy is wanting him to win and thinks hes great, you've all decided to pull for him too"....THINK FOR YOURSELF, thats what I've always liked ;) Was it that Hussein fella?

Yeah, Nedal Hussein. The guy who according to Roy, was the greatest body puncher at 122. Well, too bad he did not throw much of anything. Maybe by body puncher he meant throwing his body on Larios and hugging him. Can't think of another reason.

Right, right...thats the one. I think that poor guy got stage fright or something...He looked powerful but just wouldnt do anything. I'm not a big fan of his (or Larios either, for that matter) so it didnt bug me as much as some of them. Only the fact that it made for a slightly dull fight did it bug me. Be careful, by the way, joining me in any negativity of Jones is dangerous...I know this first hand. ;) I was pretty hated (may still be :D ) for a long time after my very first post here mo's ago!

One of the only good comments towards Chavez made by the HBO crew during Chavez vs Taylor (they all had their pom poms on for taylor) was in round 10 again after chavez opening up more cuts on the face and mouth of taylor and connecting with a 1-2 on the jaw of taylor at the bell. Taylor visibly in pain in his corner.

Larry said " It doesnt get better than that folks, Angelo Dundee the famous trainer said, "Chavez is the toughest fighter he has ever seen, Bar none! And you can see just how tough he is if after 9 rounds he can come back at Taylor like that"

Exactly, my organization is not the first one and that is why I was in a bit of an argument last night. The other party did not want a new one here in the forum. Things are back to normal for the moment. Last night, it was different. Check out the lounge if you have time to see what happened.

Before I take the time to even look at that, and not knowing who all is involved, I'll risk their wrath now to say that all this business over the karma is very silly. People threatning others with bad karma just cause they have alot of karma pt's is not what Rick intended, and he posted as much. I just dont think anyone here (other than Rick) has the right...the authority, to say who can be a super member, or what title they can use. We're all just posters on a boxing site, and it use to be all about boxing...now it's about some 'make believe' power, and that's why I've just been sitting back reading some of the crap and its made me change my opinion about alot of people. I'd really rather that not have happened; I liked alot of these people and now have no respect for them. The way it was before, if you had a problem with someones post, you debated it...now some that have alot of karma pt's are sending bad karma just cause they disagree, etc...and it's gotten completely out of control. I thought the whole purpose to this site was to share different information, view and opinions, boxing knowledge, etc...and now some are being penalized for posting those very things.
Is this a boxing forum, or a karma forum?? When you get down to the heart of the matter, what the hell is it all about anyway? I'd rather talk boxing anyday than threaten people with my karma...I hate the karma system and wish Rick had never thought of it. OR, I wish it hadnt gone to some peoples heads (alot of people too!!) and been abused the way it has. I dont care about all that ...I give karma to people for good posts (even if they didnt agree with me) and if I like them, etc....I only send bad karma to those that send it to me now. I use to send it to people that just were totally out of line , trying to piss others off, etc...but I dont even do that anymore. I dont use the thief option anymore either. I'm slowly tring to get back to the reason I checked out this site to begin with...None of my friends like boxing, so I like to find someone.....anyone , I can discuss the sport I love with. Simple as that.

No, no...I havent even seen that thread you mentioned yet! I was referring to alot of the posts in the past few weeks and how it's all come to be about karma instead of boxing. I logged off right after making that post and never saw that thread. I'm trying to avoid those threads that say anything about 'karma' and stick to the boxing! :D I love the sport...karma pts and imaginary power mean nothing to me. I've got a busier Sat. night ahead than any downtown hooker  At 6pm its UT vs. Auburn in the SEC Champ. game....I'll probably miss the tail end of it cause they almost NEVER end in regulation. Then it's SHO. boxing at 9pm....quick, hurry turn the channel to HBO and catch the Taylor-Joppy fight! So, needless to say I've got alot going on and it's gonna be a late night! My favourite Merchant interview was with Lennox after he beat Vitali.

Merchant refused to give Lennox credit for the win, and was disrepectful.

Lennox and Larry bith held the microphone and both said some funny stuff.
