Have you ever witnessed a significant crime? I'm talking like murder, rape, arson, theft (on a large scale), B&E, assault (significant assault), hard drug deal, etc?


I witnessed a pretty bad case of assault when I was much younger. I was at a library on my side of town and was in the car waiting for my mom to get back with these books that my sister needed. Anyway, while I was sitting there I saw this little black kid who had to be around my age (8 at the time) or a little older, throwing snowballs at this brick building next to the library. The kid was waiting for his dad to get something from the library and wasn't doing anything harmful. Anyway, my mom came out of the library and got in the car and just as we were about to take off this old white man came out of the brick building that the kid was throwing snowballs at and yelled at him. The kid didn't really do anything and then all of a sudden the old man hit him twice in the head with a big mag-lite flashlight. It was pretty traumatic for me.

Anyway, my mom had to go to court and testify against this dude...the old guy went to jail for like 3 years or something and had to pay the family a lot of money. I think the kid was knocked unconscious and needed like 100 stitches. He's lucky thats all he got because the kid's dad was a big strong guy (about 6'5/230 and built) and he most definitely wanted to kill that old guy.

Anyway, have you witnessed anything crazy like that?

to be honest with you he deserved it and he never did anything stupid like he did in the first place to get his ass beat again, i watched it all it was pretty cool.

a few years ago, when the house next to mine was on rent, the guy who lived there was part of a gang or something. Well one night a rival gang came along and threw bricks at the windows and pretty much wanted a fight. Cops came quickly enough to stop it though.

the worst thing that has happened to me though was some guy tried gettimg me into his car, when i was a kid. He first asked my sister 's friend 'do you know any kids around here'? Then a few minutes later he asked me 'do you want to go get some pizza'. i replied 'i got no money' and walked away.

Haha u joker. havent got any money. **** i gotta try that one. Ive been the victim of crime 2wice. The first one was proper traumatic for me and the second didnt affect me at all other than it made me bit nervous and upset for about a day or two.

actually he turned out to be a puss, once you bring the fight to him he didnt want none...... he was all talk, i guess because of his size. people had wanted us to fight for a long ass time because we hated eachother and that we were similar in size. it was kind of a rivalry

....Once when my wife(girlfriend then) and I were at my parents house late one night I had an interesting incident that I witnessed and was also a part of. We had been up watching TV and playing around in the far back room of their house which was also a converted garage. We hear this noise outside the window and we look out and somebody was in my parents car. At first I thought it was my Dad but as I looked closer I saw it was some stocky dude in a ball cap. I ran back to my Dad's room and woke him up and told him somebody was in his car. I told him to go out front and I would go around back. The dude had finished searching my Dad's car and stealing what he could get his hands on and was now at my neighbor across the streets house trying to get in his window. We walked up on him and were like "what the **** do you think your doing"? He acted like he was lost or some **** so I mentioned that I just saw him in my Dad's car. Mind you, I was frosty as hell for it being like 3 A.M. and my adrenaline was kicking. My Dad tells the guy not to move and he is getting ready to go to my neighbors door to tell him to call the police. The dude reaches into his back pocket for a blade and starts to lung at my Dad. I took like two steps and right when he was in his swing caught him on the side of his head with a huge right and knocked him out cold. I then proceeded to kick his face to mush because of the thought that he nearly stabbed my Dad. The cops came and were like, what happened to the guy? I told em the deal, they saw the knife, and then just took his ass away. Turns out he had been breaking and entering for some time and they even pinned the guy for sexually assaulting some chicks who's houses he broke into. Dude went up the river for a long long time. If that ever happens in the future I will just call the law and not risk confronting some dude in the middle of the night and risk getting shot or stabbed. The things we do when we are young and dumb!!!

I saw someone get shot when I was little. Me and my idiot friend (both of us) were out at like 2 am sneaking around the apartment complex. We heard these men yelling so we snuck (if that's a word) up this hill in some bushes and watched. There were 4-5 people around this white trans-am and I know two of them were arguing, maybe all of them. This one guy pulls out a gun and aims it at the other one. As soon as he pulled the trigger me and my friend went running down the backside of the hill away from it, scared as hell of course, though there's no way anybody saw us. Heard the trans-am screeetch off. I still don't know what the result of that was cause I didn't tell my mom, didn't want to get in trouble for being out so late.

Also saw my dad beat my mom a few times when I was little. After they were divorced, I saw her arm after her 3rd husband had cut her 5 times with a knife. Three really deep gashes, ****ed up. I pretended to be asleep in my room. Scared to death he'd kill my sister and brother and myself. I wasn't going to leave my handicapped brother there alone. That was when I was 8.

She had this 2x4 type board, extension cords, broomsticks, a bed post, her fists, choking me, etc. I was one of those kids you'd see at school that "fell" or some ****. One time she wanted me to wear make-up after she'd given me a black eye. Well I was 7 or so and there was no way I was going to wear makeup so I said a kid beat me up. Was ashamed of that **** that my mom beat me up. To me it was saying a girl beat me up and it was saying that my own ****ing mom hated me, which wasn't something I was exactly proud of. One christmas, she sat on my chest next to the christmas tree and pounded my face in.

I think I've coped pretty damn well considering. Got through college without a hitch. Might go after my masters now. Never done a drug in my life, never drank. I've almost always stayed focused on school, but I've usually been one of those B students who could've made As if I'd have actually tried harder. Mainly I hated doing homework. Even before big exams in college I always waited until the night before to study. I think most people do that.

Child abuse is pretty common I've come to learn. Talking about it while its going on isn't. Not by the kids its happening to. Only glad part I am is that if I ever got married (never happen, cause I don't believe in love, but yeah), I wouldn't beat my kids or lie to them or anything.

One thing parents don't do that drives me nuts is not educate their kids about sex. If I'm ever a parent, I'm telling my kids early, at like 4 and 5, at least some about sex. There are too many sick ass child molesters out there that'll take advantage of kids. A guy I worked with, his son was molested and damn, that **** just shook me up. I don't give a **** about helping child molesters. Disease or not, I don't really care, I just want to kill them all. Alcoholism is a disease too but if a drunk driver kills someone nobody talks rehab, they talk death row for that drunk. That's how I feel about child molesters, except worse.

Overall I'd say I like kids, though I wouldn't say I'm that good around them. I always make sure not to talk down to them though. I love watching kids play. Damn, they've got such great imaginations. And kids can come up with some pretty complex storylines with their action figures. Too bad we do everything we can to suppress those imaginations once they start middle school, sometimes earlier.

i've seen lots of assaults and other crimes, but i've already talked about them in other posts. i almost got shot, seen a carjacking, seen a girl raped with a broom handle when i was a kid, seen a stabbing, known guys who later committed murders, known people who were later murdered, etc.

I guess most of us have seen some disturbing things in our lives, or experienced them first hand. I too have seen some bad things. Nothing any more impressive than what is already typed in this topic. I do not know if I really believe things are that much worse now than 20 or 30 years ago, as many people do believe. I think a lot of things are just more talked about, which causes us to become desensitized.

Imagine if a 9/11 attack had happened to this country 30 years ago. As big of a deal as it was to us, we were still somewhat desensitized to such violence, especially compared to back then. It would've been an even more drastic change back then I believe.

You are correct sir. I would never treat my kids the way I was treated. There is nothing like talking to your kids the right way and showing them right from wrong.I had to spank my daughter once and that is it.Ofcourse it wasnt the way I got my ass handed to me. I never had to laid a hand on her again cause she understood. My son is a good kid and dont have to tell him much for him to understand.You guys really have no idea how bad it was in my house. My Dad would feel that something was wrong when he didnt have a minut reason to kick my or my brothers ass.It is funny to us now, we sit there talk about some of the ass kicking and laugh our asses off.Ill tell my bro,remember when that car hit you? **** dude uve been through sum deep ****. The most i can say is that ive been a victim of 2 relatively minor crimes compared to the murders beatch is talking about and even the abuse you got. I feel a bit rude for having a go at you the way i have done before, for all i know you coulda been ultra insecure as a result of your child experiences, but u werent too hurt by what i said thankfully. Really my point is as an adult you should know right from wrong. If you dont them what planet do you live on,ofcourse the reason I love boxing is because my pops and uncles love it and I grew up with it. Im not gonna go beating up my kids just cause I got beat up or go kill someone if was molested.

**** some sad stories here, I've never witnessed anything major but where i live (4 doors down) a dude murdered his wife a few years ago, stabbed her in the arm but she was so skinny it went thru into her heart and killed her in a matter of minutes.
A couple of our friends had come over that night for a meal and so on and as we were showing them out we were stood in the back garden saying our goodbyes and we saw him staggerring all over his back garden.
We thought he had just come home drunk or stoned but it turned out he had just killed her and was a bit delirious.
When our friends found out the next day what happened they were so thankful they didn't have to walk past him to get to their car.
And i know of both of the men that were mentioned earlier who got shot by the english farmer for trying to rob him, One died (he was a boy) and the other was walking ****ed up for a while
