Would you say this was a healthy lunch or not?
I have it on wheat bread, with lettuce, cucumber, tomato and no cheese.

Especially with no cheese and no dressing, but healthy is a relative term. It's healthier than a burger and fries but there's healthier things you could eat. Unless you're in the last stages of a weight cut for a fight or something like that, it's fine. supRa 04-20-2010, 10:30 PM its subway...... -Huey- 04-20-2010, 10:34 PM Would you say this was a healthy lunch or not? I have it on wheat bread, with lettuce, cucumber, tomato and no cheese. Same here, but I also get onions, jalapenos and bell peppers on mine. SirPimpGmoneh 04-20-2010, 11:59 PM if your trying 2 be very very healthy and need 2 maintain a certain weight its not good. A because the food at subway snit crazy healthy and B the amount of bread you get on a foot long sub is way 2 much. white bread is not the best thing to have when trying 2 b in the best condition possible. If your just an average guy that doesn't fight and just trying 2 be healthy its fine. them_apples 04-21-2010, 12:26 AM Would you say this was a healthy lunch or not? One more round 04-21-2010, 01:06 AM I think it's fine, as long as you aren't trying to cut weight for a fight like in the next week or so. Really, you just need to keep a fairly healthy diet. There's nothing wrong with some wheat bread and a bit of meat and salad, nothing wrong with some light cheese, some ice cream or pizza every now and then or whatever. Unless I'm trying to drop weight for a tournament or fight, I just keep it relatively healthy so I don't gain too much. (Although I am still growing so obviously I have to expect some gains) But yeah, my point is don't deprive yourself all the time, keep it healthy for sure, but don't go crazy restricting yourself heaps when you don't need too. But of course trying to drop weight for a tourny is a different matter, you need to get cracking then. JoHnNyBoXeR 04-21-2010, 01:17 AM Would you say this was a healthy lunch or not? I have it on wheat bread, with lettuce, cucumber, tomato and no cheese. that chicken they got is gahbage.. the only thing thats good for u there is the veggie delight on wheat bread.. which is only like a salad on bread lol Frighteous 04-21-2010, 11:37 AM For an athlete that busts his ass, that is a completely fine lunch, and I'd even add a dessert like maybe 4 or 5 strawberries and a banana. You did everything right, wheat bread, hold mayo/dressing, and it's chicken and veggies...and that isn't too much bread...what the hell is wrong with you guys, you gotta have carbs for good hard roadwork and boxing... ntate88 04-24-2010, 11:37 AM Its not going to make you fat but its unhealthy, dont be fooled by the salad, you have salad in a kebab but thats not healthy either is it.all the meat is processed meat and is precooked somewhere on the other side of the world with abnormally high sugar and salt levels, processed cheese and high calorific dressings (besides honey and mustard). If your a serious athlete you would look at subway like all the other fast food chains elfag 04-24-2010, 02:42 PM The only thing really bad is that it will have a lot of salt in it. I have been making my own sandwhiches for a lunch, i eat it on a thin wheat bun (whole wheat with fiber) and low salt turkey breast. I actually dont have the specs for the turkey so there may still be a pretty lot in it but its better than the normal kind. No cheese or mayo right now as Im trying to loose a little bit more weight. |
