View Full Version : Chuck Liddell Interview
ninjasp 06-10-2005, 01:12 PM How do you feel about fighting Jeremy Horn, and how did the match come about? Was it a match you pushed for to avenge your loss to Jeremy?
Chuck Liddell - It was known that I wanted to avenge my loss and Dana asked if I would fight him in August. I said yes, and it was that simple. I'm excited about it, this should be a great fight for the fans and it's my chance to avenge my 1st loss.
You’ve always made it clear that your ultimate goal in the UFC was to win the light heavyweight championship. Now that you have the belt, how does it feel?
CL - It feels great but now I'm looking forward to the new challenges.

Slipx 06-13-2005, 01:51 AM chuck would've been a great boxer i think
i really dont follow much mma but ive never seen him dazed
warrior mentality as well
Although Chucks punches are to slow and sloppy to be a good boxer, he does hit very hard. On another note, I hope he gets AIDS....
Squezze 06-13-2005, 07:49 AM At 205, I'd venture to say that very few, if anybody, hits harder than Liddell. Look at his fists next time. They're massive.
Wizard 06-13-2005, 12:25 PM Chucks punches are probably some of the hardest at 205, he makes a good stance for throwing them to. He lacks knees though, and he needs to develop a good low kick.
Warden11 06-24-2005, 08:13 PM I dont think Liddell would make a good boxer at all. To slow, to sloppy, leaves himself open too much. Belfort on the other hand would make an excellent boxer, in my opinion

Liddel is the best there is right now
Liddel is the best there is right now
I disagree, I have Silva and Rampage ranked higher than him, possibly Shogun as well....
Purity 06-27-2005, 04:37 PM You’ve made it no secret that you want to fight Wanderlei Silva. What would be your strategy be for that fight?
CL - No surprises there, we'll punch each other till one of us falls down.
couldn't have said it any better :)
Slipx 06-27-2005, 10:46 PM chuck needs to develop his legs ie do some power lifting /deadlifting he would add some serious power to his punches
Fallout 06-27-2005, 11:32 PM Actually, leg postion and power mean less punching powerwise in MMA than they do in boxing. Yes, your legs are important for punching power but tradtional boxing footwork leaves you unable to defend takedowns. Espically low single leg shots. You see a lot more arm punches in MMA and too many people mistake that for sloppy punching.
Can't wait till Liddell gets his well deserved win against Horn.
Liddell KO2
Cesaro 07-02-2005, 08:51 PM As long as Horn can get the athletic commission to approve these, he has this fight in the bag. Here's Horn, Hughes and a few other MFS guys getting ready to start training for his upcoming fight with Liddell:

Excellent point. Not intuitively obvious, not common knowledge, but now that you've said it...it's 100% right.

I'm new here, and was afraid to go back and check for fear of losing the post...
pathetic non-IT-savvy old fart
{BrownBomber} 07-22-2005, 03:56 PM Last night flipping threw the channels on fox sports I caught the last part of the fight. Chuck has a hell of a punch,I also saw what he did to Tito which was pretty impressive. Does anyone by any chance have the complete fight from last night? it looked like it was a war.
LHWchamp5 07-22-2005, 08:36 PM Honestly I can see lidell vs horn2 lookin something like
lidell vs Cotoure1.. Chuck has good take down defense, but when he's down he's clueless.. Horn on the other hand has good stand and excellent ground skills.. Hope chuck trains for this one so he's not embarassed the way he was against rampage..
