View Full Version : Why did Brian Kenny insult Holyfield like that?
ChrististheAnswer 12-04-2004, 02:36 AM The man called him a 3 time heavyweight champion and said the reason why was he didn't wanna diminsh the real deals legacy, what a jerk.
Look I know the win against Ruiz was questionable but give the man the respect he deserves.
Who is Brian Kenny anyway, to talk to a legend like that?
abdiel2k3 12-04-2004, 02:43 AM who the hell is CITA to question Brian Kenny
lmao
jk i musta missed that
did holy get upset about it?
.::|ULTIMATE|::. 12-04-2004, 02:45 AM nah Holyfield didnt get mad at all he was a gentleman even when the commentator said "Even if you could (meaning he thinks he cant obviously) why would you keep going"
The Fix 12-04-2004, 03:13 AM maybe it takes brian kenny acting like an ass to finally get through to holyfield.holyfield is no longer competitive and could get seriously hurt if he continues and maybe this is kenny's idea of lettin holy know what the people(most) think
Keleneki 12-04-2004, 06:17 AM Too bad so many of the legendary boxers go on too long when they have nothing left.

....**** Holy!!! He is my all time favorite fighter and I am so disgusted with him I wish he would just go away. He sounds like a retard now when he talks and he is so dillusional it's disgusting. I suspect the beatings he has gotten have altered the chemical makeup in his brain and he is somewhat of a mental case in the respect that he has no concept of reality when it comes to his skills or future. Listening to him talk now makes me sick to my stomach literaly.
Duncan 12-04-2004, 10:32 AM Holyfield has the right to fight on if he wants and continue to embarrass himself. Hell, he even has the right to get himself killed.
But Brian Kenny, like anybody, has a right to insinuate that Holyfield is a total braindead dumbass for doing so. He could have retired a dominant legend. Instead he let his thick skull make him delusional.
Don't get me wrong, I'm criticial because I love Holyfield. He is the best fighter of his era in my opinion.
ejk22 12-04-2004, 11:08 AM Who know's maybe King will force Holyfield to fight Golota and Golota finishes him off by causing him to suffer brain damage like he did to Bowe. Golota is the only boxer that probably won't feel sorry for Holyfield and would look to punish him where most other heavyweights like Donald may ease up towards the middle to ending rounds. Vitali and Wlad have said that they would not fight Holyfield and I am sure most other heavyweights would feel the same way.
Nasty Handspeed 12-04-2004, 01:53 PM Well hopefully Holyfield retires for his own good and safety. I dont wanna see a legend get hurt in the ring. He is already slurring his words in interviews.

Holyfield is the one and only 4 time heavy wt. champ...and that means alot (a few bogus titles or not; everybody else claims them so why not) considering he started out at curiser. I wish everyone would stop putting him down for wanting to continue and just try and remember all he's achieved. It kills me reading all the negativity about him here at the forums when some of those same people use to get pretty worked up over his next fight. Just cause he's stubborn and wont quit doesnt mean everyone should turn on him and talk about him that way.
I wish he'd retire too, but I'd never talk about him in an insulting manner, or make fun of him. He is still 'the warrior' to me, who provided me with hour upon hour of fantastic fighting.

Well, Then Holyfield should have the right to give Brian Kenny a quick right hand if he felt like it, But Holyfield is a gentlemen outside of the ring, bad move by Kenny in my opinion.

That's just the point- there are no more "quick right hands" for Holyfield. But I respect your opinion.
24karatrold 12-04-2004, 04:22 PM Who cares what people claim. Doesn't make them right. Holy is a two-time champ and one of only five to do that legitimately (Patterson, Ali, Foreman, Holy, Lewis). Ali is the ONLY 3-timer. Kenny should be criticized for not getting it right.

Haha, it's sad, but true

Well said, I totally agree with you
jack_the_rippuh 12-04-2004, 04:43 PM Holyfield deserves it. Whatever the say to him out of the ring is nothing compared to the beatings he receives in the ring due to his own stupidity. He justs wants to win another belt to be in a league of his own as far as heavyweights go, well I say he's already in a league of his own, who else turned so damn sorry after having such a good career, and stuck around as long as he did.
And yes, I'm still bitter, because he cheated his way into beating my boy Tyson..

Yeah, I feel bad for Holyfield. I mean, no question he is a living legend in boxing, but he really needs to stop. He is done, he's not competitive anymore. I think he should make his own descion to leave, and if he doesn't kick him out. He's going to end up being brain dead. His speech is starting to go already, if he was smart he'd leave now.
