View Full Version : What is wrong with Guinn??
Ranger2408 12-03-2004, 10:29 PM Dominic guinn had a chance to show he was still a good prospect after his loss to monte barrett, WHAT was he doing? He obviously does not have the mental make up of a champion and should retire if his heart is not in it, what is the point in doing something halfheartedly??
Appalling fight the most boring fight i have seen in a long time.

he seems to be effected the same way micheal grant was
he just isnt the same
imagine if barret had KOd his ass
hed be a complete shell of what he was even more so then he is now
Ranger2408 12-03-2004, 10:42 PM what now for him, he lost to someone with no stature in the boxing world as yet and to be honest i dont see this foreigner as champion.
He really let himself down, he has no heart :(
jujitsujn 12-03-2004, 10:43 PM It didn't seem like he put it all out there. Too reserved.
abdiel2k3 12-03-2004, 10:45 PM think were given guinn to much credit and sergei not enough
i dont think its that he didnt put it al out there
its just that sergei stopped him from maken it his fight
he did some god bodywork
dempseyfire 12-03-2004, 10:47 PM Guinn got outworked-he showed the same problems he's always shown-no inside fight game, way too methodical, and just not hungry enough. He mentally is just not a fighter. Sergui looked soft in the body but showed good skills and great bodypunching, which is rare in the HW division. At 28 he can make some noise if he gets in better shape . .
Ranger2408 12-03-2004, 10:47 PM Guinn had spots but never pressed it, on paper an easy fight for Guinn but his demenour all the way through showed that he did not want to be there.
oldgringo 12-03-2004, 10:48 PM I think Michael Grant rubbed off on Guinn.

onto the next fight :p
TheGreat1 12-03-2004, 10:49 PM damn u stole my thread.
i don't know, he is so talented just doesn't use it anymore. It's like he is just there, i thought he was going to end the fight in the 6th round after he had the guy hurt in the 5th, only, in the 6th he didn't throw any punches. i don't know what is wrong with him. he is so good, but his heart seems to be elsewhere. he acts like he just lost his dog. i am so pissed right now. Guinn has good skills and a great chin, he never seems to be hurt, has great power. but he doesn't finish when he has chances. damn guinn, what the **** is wrong with u?

Sergei Liakhovich seems quite talented. Maybe that's Sergei who is simply better tonight.
Ranger2408 12-03-2004, 10:57 PM could be talented who knows
freirui 12-03-2004, 11:00 PM guinn is bum.
Nautilus 12-03-2004, 11:01 PM Dominic ...should retire if his heart is not in it
and do what?
hope Guinn finds the power to fight on despite the setbacks
it will return his heart to boxing
Ranger2408 12-03-2004, 11:12 PM no he does not have the mental make up he reminds me of buster douglas a little bit
TheGreat1 12-03-2004, 11:13 PM Sergei Liakhovich seems quite talented. Maybe that's Sergei who is simply better tonight.
yeah, he was decent, but not near as talented as guinn. Sergei had much more heart, and won with that. i would like to see sergei against Jirov
TheGreat1 12-03-2004, 11:14 PM guinn is bum.
if u have ever seen him fight before u couldn't say that.
!!Captain 12-03-2004, 11:20 PM yeah, he was decent, but not near as talented as guinn. Sergei had much more heart, and won with that. i would like to see sergei against Jirov
I'd take Jirov vs. Toney II any time over any fight. The first one was one of the best fights I've seen. However, I don't think this fight will happen unless it'll become mandatory at some point in time. Who knows?

yeah that was a great fight, one the the better fights i have ever seen. i don't think it will happen because jirov is too much of a threat for tony but offers nothing to toney because he as already beat him. toney should just move forward and win a title.
Ranger2408 12-03-2004, 11:36 PM maybe toney could go down and take on the winner of tarver-johnson
Eyeh8you 12-04-2004, 12:43 AM Where is SPinksJinx we have a bet to settle. I beleieve you owe me 200K
MexicanBoxer 12-04-2004, 12:45 AM Teddy Atlast set it the best, he doesn't punch as much and he's probably a lazy boxer when it comes to training.
bchynn 12-04-2004, 12:49 AM I wish someone would put a muzzle on Atlas.
Eyeh8you 12-04-2004, 01:02 AM I think this should prove that Guinn will never be a champ even in this division. NO HEART :(
bchynn 12-04-2004, 01:03 AM Guinn had the nerve to say that the heavyweight division was wide open and not filled with much...when he loses to guys such as Monte Barrett.
Teddy Atlast set it the best, he doesn't punch as much and he's probably a lazy boxer when it comes to training.I second Atlas's statement, and plus Guinn was all hype to begin with. I mean he had one good meaningful fight and what else and worse, this guy gets another break to be in front of a nationwide audience and comes in fat.
