The Floyd, I think. He it is very good on legs and has very good speed. If the opponent of the Duran is able well to do this - Roberto has serious problems (we recollect his the second and third fight against Leonard). But I am not sure at all - Floyd was in a difficult situation in the fourth round against Corley (but 140), and DeMarcus is much worse, than Duran.

Duran wins. Mayweather would probably have been one of the few fighters to extend Duran to the distance in his prime. However, it's just too damn hard to go against a Duran in his prime. The ironic thing about Duran is that when he became a household name(Leonard fights) he was past his prime. Yet had decent sucess the next 15 or 20 years. Duran in the 70's was unbelievable.
When Joe Frazier was asked if Duran reminded him of anyone he said 'yes, Charles Manson'. Duran was truly great.

As much as I like Mayweather, Duran was damn near invincible at 135. Mayweather couldn't stay away throughout an entire fight. Duran by decision or late stoppage. PRESSURE PRESSURE PRESSURE Duran was one of the best at it and he also had a whole lot of stamina to go with it as well.

Great

floyd would fight in spurts, but would lose because he doesn't have the power to hurt Duran. Duran usually fights nonstop and once he felt the hands of stone, his ass gonna be asleep like a stone lol

I think if it went the distance Mayweather`s boxing would win a tight dec but Duran would be dangerous till the end. If Mayweather could survive the opening six frames, i think he wins.

Duran is not Corrales, or Castillo.
Duran, IS DURAN.....one of the absolute greatest fighters ever.

He'd beat Floyd, possibly TKOing him late in the fight.

Floyd has not shown anything since departing 130, that shows me he beats the fiercest, greatest 135lber ever.

Whitaker was a better super light-weight than Duran..

Whitaker was a better super light-weight than Duran..

Well.....not only is that something that may not be true....it couldn't be any less relevant to the topic at hand.

Topic = "Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Roberto Duran at 135"

Tell me where it says anything about a 140lb. Pernell Whitaker, dipshit ?

You gotta be kidding me. Comparing the great Duran with this Mayweather. Duran has been acclaimed as the BEST BEST LIGHT WEIGHT OF ALL TIME by 90% of boxing experts. He was invincible during his reign of terror in the seventies. You guys who picked Mayweather over Duran don't know anything about boxing. You guys are too young to understand who mano de piedra Duran was. He would kill Mayweather in the ring. I can't believe how much ignorant you guys are about Duran. Do your homework and find out who Duran was at this division. He would've knocked out Mayweather in tree or two rounds period. Who stared this stupid comparisson.

Duran would knock Floyd out in the later rounds. We're not talking about a mickey mouse fighter like Corrales, we're talking about Duran the greatest lightweight OF ALL TIME.

Floyd has shown that he can beat punchers like Castillo but can he beat arguably one of the best defensive punchers of all time, who had handspeed, boxing ability, and power. I don't think so.

That stats are against Floyd. Duran knocked out 12 of his 13 opponents at 135. Total mismatch IMO.

Floyd Mayweather struggled against Castillo at 135. Imagine what a prime duran would have done to him at 135

I love floyd, but until he beats that poor duran imitation ricky hatton decively, this conversation is pointless

from what we have seen so far Duran and it would be a very hard night difficult for mayweather, it would not be impossible for him to win but he should be an underdog, and not by 50, and his making the distance couls also be doubted

But let's wait: what mayweather has been showing is as impressive as it gets in this sport, should he beat hatton, judah and margarito it would be a different story

Duran was so good to win belts in much higher weight classes, he beat leonard at 147, he was outboxing hagler for a few rounds at 160. Right now mayweather is not a very sound bet!

but it's also unfair to floyd and what he is done so far, to rave on how duran would kill him in the ring and stuff like that

Duran is 52 right now, i bet that i was still boxing, he would be one of the top light weights of the world right now. Imagine how good he was when he used to kill his opponents in this category in the seventies. Maywhehter is no match for MANO DE PIEDRA.
