The Troll 06-06-2005, 06:04 PM Profile: The Baath Party
The Baath party's slogan is Unity, Liberty, Socialism, and its principles include fostering Arab nationalism and pan-Arab unity.
Iraq and Syria are the only countries in which the party has risen to power.
Baath means "resurrection" in Arabic, and the party was initially conceived in Damascus by two French-educated schoolteachers in 1947.
The party took power in Syria in 1963, the same year the Iraqi branch helped overthrow then-leader General Abd al-Karim Kassem in a coup d'etat.
Despite the motto of unity, throughout the 1960s and 1970s attempts to unite the governments of Iraq and Syria failed due to a series of disagreements.
The Syrian party's first years in office were tumultuous, as disputes raged between military and civilian elements.
The military element eventually won in 1966, and there were a total of eight changes in leadership between 1963 and 1970 either in the party or in government.
Today, the party in Syria boasts 1.5 million members, out of a total population of 17 million.
Members are empowered to propose directions for the party but cannot make decisions during the congress, which is aimed at examining the overall situation of Syria's politics and economy
This political party has since been outlawed in Iraq following the US led invasion in 2003
Democracy baby yeah. ;) But you Baath party guys. YOu are not allowed to participate. Or have represenatives, or even to exist in Iraq.

So the French are to blame.....
The Troll 06-06-2005, 06:10 PM So the French are to blame.....
Blame for what. What is wrong with International cooperation between Arab countries. They desperately need a unified front to combat Jewish expansionism in the region of Palestine, Egypt, Lebanon,Syria, etc....\
Not to mention the United States Invasion of Iraq.
LuKahnLi 06-06-2005, 06:12 PM You need to relax. I was kidding.
The Troll 06-06-2005, 06:16 PM The Baath Party might not be the answer to the Middle eastern countries problems. But for sure countries like Syria, Iraq, Egypt, Palestinian militant groups need at least a mutual defence agreement.

Jewish expansionism?? WTF are you talking about??? Jews have a speck of dust compared to the arabs in the middle east. If anything, it's the Jews that need help from expanding arabs.
I also like how you post Baath party propaganda (probably off the Al Jazzera website) like its the truth and give people the impression that all they're about is equality and international cooperation.

The Jews occupy territory of practically all the land granted to the Palestinians they occupy Egyptian Territory and they occupy Syrian territory at the current time. Ever here of the Golan Heights. And let us not forget the Jewish occupation at one time of Lebanon.
They gained alot of this territory from other countries during a war in 1968. They refuse to return any territorial gains.
One factoid about the war in 1968 the Isrealies attacked the United States Ship Liberty. Which was a servailance ship. They have never apologized for this. Over 100 US sailors died in this attack by Jewish aircraft.

The Troll 06-06-2005, 06:36 PM Turn off the Fox News or CNN and get yourself educated. Either do that, or stop lying like filthy animal.
When will Isreal apologize for the destroying the United STates Ship Liberty? When will Isreal apoloigzie to the Palestinian refugees and let them come home and confinsate them for damages. Like for the ethnic clensing and terror campagin launched against the Arabs in 1948.

When you Lie, you speak in character because your father is the father of lies. He was a murder from the beginning....... Jesus speaking to Hebrews, from the Gospel of John I believe passage 8:11

Your the filthy anti jew who spewing all kinds of lies and hatred all over this board.
I dont know where you get this idea that when you win a war that both parties agreed to partake in, that the winner of that war needs to return everything it won it that war to the loosing side. What twilight zone world do you live in buddy? You know that Egypt, Syria and the other countries involved in the war told the people in Palestine to get out so they could take out the jews right?? They told them that as soon as the war was over and the jews were gone they could come back. Well, too bad the jews didnt get wiped out like the palestinians and the rest of the surronding arab countries wanted, so now they have to deal with the consequences, including the loss of land in the war. If you dont like it, boo hoo, let me go get my violin.

All those who suppot Isreal are the children and Satan and shall ultimately perish. The only way that "country" exists is through lies, ethnic clensing, terror, and oppression. Someday it is all going to end for you. Hopefully by Spontaneus combustion.

YOu caught me. It is Jesus Christ speaking to the Jews (the followers of the Pharisees). I love that passage John 8:11. There is so much to be learned by reading to the Bible. Contrary to what the liars and satantics will have you believe.
This is the cup of the New and Everlasting Convenant.
LuKahnLi 06-06-2005, 06:55 PM YOu caught me. It is Jesus Christ speaking to the Jews (the followers of the Pharisees).
That makes more sense.
The fact that Jesus rebelled against the religious institution he was raised in should put into focus for everyone, the answer to the Question: WWJD?
If you were raised Christian. REBEL
IF you were raised Jewish. REBEL
If you were raised Muslim. REBEL
No sense in rebelling if you were raised in an Eastern religion (Buddhism etc.). There isn't really anything to rebel against.

I agree. I like reading the footnotes, so I know exactly WHERE each document came from. When it was produced, When it was translated and who translated it. Then you understand MORE about the history of the Christianity and the Catholic Church especially.

Maybe you never heard this passage.
"Give Caesar to what is his give me to what is mine."
Hardly a rebellious statement. It was a very "anti semtic" thing to encourage paying Roman Tax Collectors.

It is when you consider that statement was in response to the Pharisees saying they should stop paying taxes.
Jesus WAS contradicting the religious leaders.
Rebel against the Religious institution. Not the State.

He was speaking to his followers. One of them posed the question about paying taxes because the Pharisees urged them not to.

"[19] The teachers of the law and the chief priests looked for a way to arrest him immediately, because they knew he had spoken this parable against them. But they were afraid of the people.
[20] Keeping a close watch on him, they sent spies, who pretended to be honest. They hoped to catch Jesus in something he said so that they might hand him over to the power and authority of the governor. [21] So the spies questioned him: "Teacher, we know that you speak and teach what is right, and that you do not show partiality but teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. [22] Is it right for us to pay taxes to Caesar or not?"
[23] He saw through their duplicity and said to them, [24] "Show me a denarius. Whose portrait and inscription are on it?"
[25] "Caesar's," they replied.
He said to them, "Then give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's."
[26] They were unable to trap him in what he had said there in public. And astonished by his answer, they became silent. "
See, it was against the Pharesees.

You know Jesus was a Jew, right? And don't take things out of context. He's talking to Pharasees, not just any old Hebrew.
Wow, you guys don't have the slightest clue as to what you're talking about. Jesus did not "rebel" against religion, he was correcting a corruption of it.
That passage starts at John 8:45, by the way, not 11.

Thank you.
However, those IN the religion always dismiss the 'Correction' rebellion. In the eyes of the pharasees Jesus was rebelling.
I never said Jesus rebelled against the concept of religion or spirituality. What he rebelled against was the religious institution.
