View Full Version : Shyne's First Single Is Coming On Tuesday Truth 04-10-2010, 06:37 PM http://www.digitalspy.com/music/a213636/shyne-to-release-first-single-since-2001.html Truth 04-10-2010, 07:01 PM The single is called, "Messiah" http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1635843/20100409/shyne.jhtml MTV news has heard and reports that Shyne rapped, ""I got the city on my back, pretty women in the sack," the song begins. "Rollin' in the Rolls/ Sit, sittin' in my lap/ This is not a rap, fool, this is not an act/ Welcome to New York, blood, this is where it's at/ Snitches take a nap with the fishes and the rats/ Buried in the dirt where the witnesses is at." In the chorus, he declares: "This one is a go, but r-r-really though/ If you know the code, then y-y-you could roll/ But if you was a foe, then you get peter-rolled/ But keep that on the low, r-r-really though." EZ Elpee keeps the track simple but with a threatening synth and bass thump. "You got the crown/ I had to repo that/ Where the East Coast at?/ Mobster music ... Nino's back. "Tell him to go to school, he don't wanna go/ Shorty wanna roll, how I'mma tell him no?" he continues. "He just like Po/ God knows it better for him to be like Barack O/ My life ain't gold/ One foot is in the grave, the other in the hole/ I wish that I could show, he gonna follow me straight to death row/ Nah, I'mma make sure, he ain't like me/ R-r-really though." Nick Fury 04-10-2010, 07:16 PM Sounds like it's going to be horrible. Truth 04-10-2010, 09:21 PM Im definitley going to check this out. I have a feeling shyne's new music is going to be dope. I think it might even end up being better than his old ****. Just my opinion. Biolink 04-10-2010, 09:29 PM Shyne sucks now because he changed his voice BG_Knocc_Out 04-10-2010, 09:35 PM I don't have a good feeling about this. Sounds about mainstream-ish. All those years in prison and converting has made him come out with some lyrically wack ****? All those times of writing in his prison cell, and he comes forward with this? lol Truth 04-11-2010, 08:26 AM I don't have a good feeling about this. Sounds about mainstream-ish. All those years in prison and converting has made him come out with some lyrically wack ****? All those times of writing in his prison cell, and he comes forward with this? lol Shyne wants to sell records like everybody else. I bet he had better songs that he had to scrap because they were out dated. I bet Shyne doesn't even to say some of the stuff he said in those verses, but he know hes has to, to have a chance at selling some cds. crillz 04-11-2010, 06:51 PM when is the song coming out? or better yet is it leaked? I wanna hear what Po got to say Truth 04-11-2010, 06:52 PM ^the word is its coming tommorow. But I've also heard tuesday, so im not sure. Truth 04-13-2010, 07:42 AM http://www.rapbasement.com/audio/shyne-messiah.html here it is. I like it, its not the best thing I've ever heard. But it gets the job done. As far as Shyne changing his flow and voice, its probably because he was thinking he needed to adapt to the new times. Truth 04-13-2010, 08:01 AM on second listen i like it quite a bit. I actually like Shyne's new flow, and his voice sounds more like shyne in this one than the dj khaled one. I think Shyne's new album is going to be dope. abc123WBVA 04-13-2010, 09:22 AM I really liked Shyne, and was happy he got to walk free again. But I am not impressed with anything he's done since he's been out. I hope he can do something, but I would be happy if any rapper can put out good music, cuz that's why I'm listening to it. But with each song he releases, I'm thinking more and more that it's not going to be Shyne that I'll be listening to. ABC Truth 04-13-2010, 09:34 AM the funny thing is, if he came with something that sounded exactly the same as his old stuff....alot of people would probably say, "hey shyne its not 2000 anymore." I think alot of people had their minds made up they wernt going to like this song before they heard it. ^not necessairly you, im just saying... **I just listened to a old shyne song and compared his voice then to now. Honestly, its not even his voice thats changed, its his flow it seems. Hes doing this whisper(jay-z/50ish) flow. If he would just rap without flowing like that, I think he'd sound about the same. I think hes just trying to fit in with the times by using a more singing style flow. CrackYourJaw 04-13-2010, 11:13 AM :( Disappointing. abc123WBVA 04-13-2010, 12:16 PM the funny thing is, if he came with something that sounded exactly the same as his old stuff....alot of people would probably say, "hey shyne its not 2000 anymore." But I don't think they had their minds made up he was going to be bad... but maybe more a case of having higher expectations than what Shyne could deliver. I mean he was doing good when he went in jail, but it's not like he was a super-star, can't miss a song by him kinda dude. And I personally don't care if he comes with a new flow or keeps his old flow... I just want to hear some good music. And for me that wasn't it. But that's just my opinion. It's kinda like DMX, dude was the man... making real consistent bangers for a long time. I haven't gotten a consistent string of songs I like in a while... Do I think he's going to have a great comeback that will bring back the enjoyment I had during his first two albums? Probably not... But I'll check him out... if it's good, I'll give props and listen to it. If not, I'll just skip it and know that I don't have to come back. Shyne could easily be in the "I don't have to come back" category... but I'll give him the chance. ABC rskumm21 04-13-2010, 12:43 PM http://www.rapbasement.com/audio/shyne-messiah.html here it is. It sucks ****. Libra_Por_Libra 04-13-2010, 12:50 PM He needs to go back to his old voice and old flow. People want the 2000 Shyne. The beat is also trash. QUELOQUE 04-13-2010, 12:52 PM What's up with his voice and flow? The song is decent, but if he wasn't trying to flow like 2004 50 Cent and sound like some pervert, it would be better. Truth 04-13-2010, 12:58 PM It sucks ****. u still mad about that karma **** from a month ago. lol. get over it. rskumm21 04-13-2010, 01:37 PM u still mad about that karma **** from a month ago. lol. get over it.
