View Full Version : Should Tzsyu fight a rematch with Hatton (in Australia)? Nautilus 06-05-2005, 11:04 PM Should Tzsyu fight a rematch with Hatton (in Australia)? NOFX 06-05-2005, 11:51 PM i dont know anymore. I feel Kostya lost his spark. Hatton would probably beat KT maybe by a split decision in a rematch (if it would go the full 12). in Australia, who knows? PBDS 06-05-2005, 11:55 PM ...I would give a motivated and something to prove Zoo the edge in Australia. Hatton fought the fight of his life and was in a trance induced by 22,000 fans. I would lay money that he couldn't produce like that twice. Still, something was missing with Kostya, so maybe his heart just aint in it. mosley 06-06-2005, 12:00 AM Firstly let me congratulate Hatton on an outstanding performance. He certainly proved me wrong. The home town advantage is huge, sports teams rarely lose at home the statistics bare that out. I do not believe that Hatton could win the same way on Tszyu's home turf. So yes I thought the same thing last night. They should fight a rematch here in Sydney. PapiShasho 06-06-2005, 01:19 AM i dont think tszyu wants to fight anymore. he could have easily gotten a rematch even if he wouldve lost because it wouldve been close either way. if he couldnt fight 3 more minutes in a fight he was close in, you know he has to be done, or take another 2 year layoff. bfg 06-06-2005, 01:30 AM I think Tszyu could very well be done...to not answer the final bell because you just don't think you can win makes it seem like his heart isn't in it anymore...who knows, he may have knocked Hatton out, although I think this is unlikely but Chavez ko'd Taylor with less than ten seconds to go while trailing on all the cards..never know in boxing...Tszyu should have been able to pull together one last big blast if he knew he had to ko Hatton but the will just wasn't there...Props to Hatton not only for beating Tszyu but for taking his heart out of the fight...he'll match up well with the other top fighters in the weight class....My bet is Tszyu retires. MetalVomit 06-06-2005, 01:39 AM Should Tzsyu fight a rematch with Hatton (in Australia)? I dont see anything wrong with that IF KT wants it. There's nothing wrong with a longtime champ wanting a shot at redemption. MAXWELL_ 06-06-2005, 03:50 AM tszyu is a gentleman of boxing. not a bad word has been said of him.he deserves a rematch, after corrales bullys the hell out of him and sends him back to england.let hatton learn what its like to go up against someone that has fought someone like castillo with a higher workrate and just as much power. tszyu hadn't fought a brawler in years. him and his corner made mistakes. second time around the intelligent tszyu could make outcome different. then retire on an upnote. even tho he don't need no upnotes. Gsand 06-06-2005, 04:30 AM 1. Warren wont give him a rematch regardless of what hatton says. 2. I dont think he beats hatton regardless of location after that sort of mentally breaking loss. pegson 06-06-2005, 04:34 AM I would love to see a re match if Kostya Tszyu is up to it, but I think he is going to retire. But IF je was on his game he wouldnt of lost. I nearly laughed at the time the fight was schedualed 2 in the morning. bigbadbri 06-06-2005, 04:52 AM I would love to see a re match if Kostya Tszyu is up to it, but I think he is going to retire. But IF je was on his game he wouldnt of lost. I nearly laughed at the time the fight was schedualed 2 in the morning.Ricky Hatton didn't like fighting at 2 in the morning either. But you ajust your training schedule so that you are ready for it. Kostya had been in the UK for 2 weeks, so he had plenty of time to prepare. Please stop all the excuses guys, it's getting boring and it's only Monday morning. elveiel 06-06-2005, 04:57 AM I think the question should be : Should Hatton give Tszyu a rematch in Australia. I think he should because Tsyzu give him the chance when everyone else refused to fight him, other than Cotto(who probably would have fought Hatton) Tszyu was the only fighter man enough to step in with Hatton. I dont think it would be a good career move for Tszyu, maybe both fighters should have a couple of fights first before a rematch. Cletus Funk 06-06-2005, 05:12 AM I voted no because KT looked like he had had enough after the fight, and not just physically. If he still had the genuine desire to fight on then of course he deserves a rematch, and it would only be fair to have it somewhere of KT's choice as long as they can match the money. Truth 06-06-2005, 08:46 AM Maybe Tzsyu should just retire, he has had a great career and is now 35 years old. |
