stop making excuses..if it was in the states it would be the same..too much pressure and hatton could handle his punch

I've been saying for six months there would be every excuse in the book once Hatton stopped him. Case and point.

too early, too old, biased ref, home crowd...HATTON IS A WORLD CLASS FIGHTER although I think he has some flaws but he showed that he belongs

Don't forget it was in England, it was 2am, it was in front of 22,000 football (soccer to you Yanks) "hooligans", the sky was dark, it was raining (outside), the building didn't sell any Stelia Artois, the ring was 1/8 of an inch too big, Hatton had red gloves on, it was on PPV, Tsyzu's parents weren't there, Hatton's milky bar white skin put Tsyzu off his game plan, etc, etc, etc.

Get all the excuses out. Britain has been telling you about Ricky Hatton for years and nobody outside this country gave him a chance. He beat the best pound for pound fighter in the world fair and square. Boo ****ing hoo.

And later this year, Jeff Lacy is in for much of the same.

I couldn't have said it any better my friend, Hatton was awesome last night and no excuses are necessary, I was pretty sure that Kostya would KO the kid in the mid rounds but Hatton's style and pressure wouldn't allow it, it was the best performance by a title challenger I've seen in a long time

I said Hatton would give Tszyu alot of problems but I thought Tszyu would come on in the end. The first half of my prediction came true but the second half didn't. Hatton has shown that he belongs with the best at 140.

I agree... Why all the excuses?... I've heard some funny ones pm'd to me, calling the fight as bad as a German hometown decsion! :dunno:

Yeah I know!... I think it's more to do with people losing bets, once they've settled down, they'll see the truth. ;)

I agree, people always like to hate a good British fighter and discredit great champions when they lose.

Cheers man... I've been following Ricky boy since the beginning, and it was quite emotional to see our boy win and get to where he is.

I've heard that they're already lining Hatton up to face Corrales. I think that would be good for Hatton, because I don't think Corrales should move up to Light-welterweight (he's too small). I don't think Corrales needs too.

Corrales should take on Morales, especially after the WAR he's just had!... He deserves a fight with someone smaller than him.

You gotta respect Corrales though!... He's got balls of steel!

Props to all the Tsyzu fans who can still call it as it happened. Just a shame some people still choose to wear blindfolds when it suits them.

I know what you mean man... I've chatted to some Aussie's today, (Tszyu fans) and they didn't have loads of excuses, they just had praise for Ricky Hatton on a job well done, and strategic plan that came off right.

To be honest with you, I've started to just ignore posts diss-crediting Ricky's acheivement.

I just think it's people that have been made to look stupid, and losts bets on it.

Props to your boy Martin, I hope he fights my boy Cotto, that would be an awesome fight...The two best body punchers in the sport, and IMO the two best 140 pounders..

Do you think that he will fight outside the MEN arena now?

That would be an all time great fight. Hatton wants to fight in Las Vegas next, so I'm sure it could happen.

I wouldn't want to pick a winner in that fight at this stage, (In my personal opinion) Cotto would present a greater threat than Tszyu because of his age and power.

The only worry there maybe with matching these two up is, Cotto is an HBO fighter whereas Hatton is Showtime.

I think he wants to fight out of the MEN arena but Frank Warren doesn't want to. Warren holds him back too much in my opinion. I use to be very high on Hatton when I first seen him but Warren killed most of that by not letting him fight the fighters he should of until now.

I don't see any reason why Hatton should fight outside Manchester. He is one of the biggest draws in boxing and certainly the biggest in the division. However, Hatton has a hard on for Las Vegas and it's inevitable he'll end up fighting there.

I'd would LOVE to see Hatton vs. Cotto. I'd also LOVE to see either smash **** out of Mayweather.

I agree but Warren really can't be blamed for Kelson Pinto refusing to get on a plane or Vivian Harris turning down the biggest pay day of his life because he signed a moody TV deal and is bitter about it.

yeah i know, but you gave him wearing red gloves a potential excuse and i just wanted to point it out that you were mistaken. No worrires though we all make mistakes.

I reckon either Hatton or Cotto wanna try their hardest to get the Mayweather fight!

Personally I think both of these fighters would beat Mayweather no problem. They're both too big and too strong for Mayweather, and the Americans love Mayweather so a victory over him would make you a P4P star!

Don't get me wrong, I think Mayweather is more skillfull than both of our fighters, but Hatton's pressure and strength would take it's toll and he'd stop Mayweather late.

Cotto's power would be too much for the smaller Mayweather, and Cotto too would wear Mayweather down to a stoppage late.

As a Hatton fan, I think Cotto's gonna be the one more likely to get the Mayweather fight because they're both HBO fighters.

Either way, a fight between the divisions best (Hatton/Cotto) has all the makings of a classic... Both young, strong, hungry, and unbeaten! Whoa!!!

SHOWTIME no longer does exclusive deals with fighters, Tszyu and Tyson still have a few fights remaining on theirs, but SHO doesn't do this any longer, so Hatton is free to fight on HBO, which could mean HATTON-MAYWEATHER IN THE FALL!!!!!

Tszyu was not the best p4p fighter in the world (at least not to Ring and the general public) so that's a bit over the top, but yes, it was a very awesome victory that places Hatton as the first Brit in a while top 10 p4p.

However my friend, Jeff Lacy is a strong young buck (like Hatton) whereas Calzaghe is the old pro who will be favored to win (like Tszyu was). Joe Zoggy will lose, bank on it.

Cotto has not shown he is in Mayweather's league...talk about jumping the gun. Fine if you think he will win, but that's not based on anything solid. Mayweather has every skill to beat Cotto. Hell, Cotto was sure Mayweather would lose to Bruseles because his buddy Bruseles fights like him. Cotto would lose to Hatton and Mayweather rught now. He hasn't proven anything that would enable the public to make him a favorite over either fighter.
